If you’re willing to get past that awful Julie Chen introducing him, this is Ricky Martin performing on Wednesday’s 12th Annual Home for the Holidays special on CBS. It’s the first time he sang “Shine” for a televised audience, and the whole thing was a little hokey, and I doubt this is going to be a huge sales success, but I’m fine with anything that gets Ricky into a well-tailored suit while he shakes his bon bon.

Unfortunately, the beat in his head was twice as fast as the actual beat so his hips didn’t go to the music. That and the bad backup dancer choreography didn’t help. The tune was meh.

Ricky Martin seemed to spend years acceding to the terms of the homophobic record company bosses who insisted he surround himself with females in his music videos. Yeah, right, and I’m supposed to love this guy?
