Gay marriage and guns—we’re for both of those.
We’re from Colorado, and look at the way Colorado’s gone politically in the last few elections, it’s now gay-friendly, weed-friendly, gun-friendly. There’s an element of Colorado that I think is in us.”
—South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, revealing a little about their personal political leanings, in The Guardian. The interview was conducted before the massacre in Sandy Hook, CT.

@Tom: But they’re needed to protect people from children, I mean who the fuck do they think they are going to school and being respectful.

boring
No amount of gay sex, seitan-based meals and liberalism is going to keep me from admitting that shooting guns is totally awesome.
Sorry.

Yes of course, guys, because if you ban guns no sociopathic, mentally disturbed, or criminally insane individual will find a way around not having access to a firearm in order to inflict harm on innocent people. Don’t believe the hype folks. Don’t get me wrong, I think it is insane for any private citizen to lobby for the right to own an assault weapon…if you need an assault weapon for protection, you need to change your lifestyle, not get an assault weapon. But to pretend as though banning guns or instituting harsher gun control laws is going to stop crazy people or criminals from doing the terrible things they do is asinine. We need more effective mental health screenings and evaluations. Mental health should be treated with the same severity and concern as physical health. I’m all for adding a mental health evaluation to the process of being able to purchase or own a firearm; but I am not for taking guns away from honest, sane (but maybe some cases, insecure) people.
