With Window Media’s collapse, the weekly Southern Voice died with it. But the newspaper’s employees didn’t want to let the dream die, so they’re resuscitating the Voice‘s mission. And while there’s no ETA as to when the new rag will actually get off the ground, staffers did choose a name. It will be called GA Voice. Not that “GA” stands for Georgia. Chris Cash, the Voice‘s founder and GA‘s new proprietor, insists: “You can pronounce ‘GA’ however you like.” Like: Ga?

GA? Seriously? I guess calling it GA GA Voice would make it too obvious.

It was a sad and abrupt surprise when SoVo bit the dust. Visibility is one of our strongest tools as a community. Hopefully between GA Voice (honestly, I don’t know how I would pronounce it so I’ll just have to call it “that gay paper”) and Project Q Atlanta, won’t disappear from view.

I’m just going to call it Georgia Voice.
