Steve Grand is more than just a pretty face. He knows a lot about acronyms (UC, $$$$ and DDF, for example) used for cruising online. Davey Wavey puts the church boy ho entertainer through his paces with a very challenging quiz about dating app terminology and he passes with flying colors. The guys then get into an in-depth and thoroughly educational discussion about how to decide on the proper profile photo (recent pics only, fellas!), finding the right app (Davey is a big Surge fan and will give you a discount tryout code) and online etiquette (don’t be an asshole, OK?).

Sweet!!! Queerty’s one millionth link to a Davey Wavey video.
I can’t wait to not watch it.
Armiya
Yay! Another pointless video from one of the most self absorbed idiots that somehow Queerty seems to find relevant, featuring yet another dipshit narcissist with as much questionable talent. Seriously get over Davey Wavey! Nothing he says has any depth and it sure seems Queerty is following his lead.
Billy Budd
NO, please no more Davey Wavey, I beg you on my knees. I can’t stand him anymore. Please stop. Please have mercy.
Aromaeus
These two are so annoying.
Stache
I love how he automatically assumes the $$$ means generous to him and not just someone seeking $$$.
Matt Achine
I’d rather talk Queerty through a policy of ignoring these fuckers.
Terrycloth
@Billy Bud enough of this guy.Davey wavy just creeps me out .really rubs me the wrong way.i wish he would go away .you are not an authority on all things gay ! Totally agree with you this guy should disappear
Hussain-TheCanadian
I really don’t understand Steve; on the one hand he wants to be respected by gay Media (and community), and on the other hand he pops-up with Davey promoting shallow apps with a “racy” picture of himself.
Steve needs to decide what the hell he wants to be – either an entertainer of the Davey wavey variety or something more…….just my cents with love.
TylernKY
I agree with you all. Davey Wavey is a no body. His narcissistic self promoting escapades need to come to an end. Pointless, useless and degrading to all gay kind. Time for boy to get a job.
TylernKY
Plus Davey is really all that attractive. Come on. His body is a dime a dozen, his attitude in gay world, a dime a dozen…. Over it … Queerty, time for a midlife crisis and find a new, more respectful and intelligent boy.
TylernKY
Isn’t ????????????????
Chris
@Billy Budd: Right!
Wait, you can be on your knees to beg?!
🙂
Matt Achine
@Hussain-TheCanadian: Steve Grand wants to be liked, followed & given a platform, period. Like most of his ilk, it’s no problem if various states of nudity get him there.
Hussain-TheCanadian
@Matt Achine: I agree with you, however it was Steve who was complaining just a few months ago that Queerty was disrespecting him for posting his semi-Nude pics; he wanted to be appreciated and respected as an artist….which is great, but he shouldn’t complain at the reaction when he starts doing videos like those with Davey.
redcarpet30
Ya know, I don’t understand why he’s so awful. Yes he’s a “pretty boy” and is probably only interested in guys with his exact body type, but he’s usually pretty kind and mostly non-controversial in his videos. Certainly nothing deserving absolute rage.
Matt Achine
@Hussain-TheCanadian: Queerty is always bottom feeding too, using these desperate attention whores for smutty clickbait. But how hard did he try to remove those images from the Internet to start with?
Hussain-TheCanadian
@Matt Achine: I don’t think Steve has; Davey has videos encouraging other youtubers to be “topless” so they get more traffic and views on their channels (when confronted of course he says he’s only joking and doing it for comedic purposes) – So if Steve is going to follow Davey in his presentations and business model, he shouldn’t be complaining if he gets cat-calls from his fans or viewers.
I like Steve, and he’s really sweet, I just don’t understand some of the things he does – Davey doesn’t strike me as someone to take advise form anyway.

AJAnders, Armiya, Billy Budd, and Matt: the article very clear indicated in the headline the link was featured Steve and Davey. If you don’t like them, don’t go to the link. This seems a basic rule akin to the Wanda Sykes rule on gay marriage (“if you don’t like gay marriage, don’t marry someone of the same sex”). If you don’t like Steve or Davey, don’t go read articles about them. I happen to like them both very much. My experience Davey was extremely positive and I would love to see him again. Steve has a lovely voice and has written excellent stuff. I think the both contribute to the gay community in very positive ways and are a plus for us.
To ask Queerty to not write article about some one many of us are interested in is selfish. I couldn’t care less about sports, but don’t object to the sports news they publish. I wouldn’t recognize “Lemonade” if it played on my iPhone, but I don’t mind the news about it. One the points of the gay community is to let a thousand flowers bloom not walk lock step enforcing the same interests and tastes.
Basically, if you don’t like a topic, don’t read it rather than trying to deprive the rest of us.
Stache: Steve didn’t assume, you gave what he thought was the answer an he turned out to be right. Given his looks, however, I don’t find the assumption that someone would pay to have sex with him rather than he having to pay for sex unrealistic.
chris_clb614
@MacAdvisor: The dislike of Davey Davey baffles me too. I’ve think I’ve said this before, it’s either because he’s a little too much of an example of “not macho”, or he’s often shirtless in his YouTube videos. That probably reminds some of us that we “gotta get in shape”- but probably don’t have the amount of time that Davey obviously has. And he fits a certain stereotype WAY too much.
For goodness sake, if you see his name in the headline or his photo, DON’T BOTHER CLICKING ON IT!
Doughosier
I love Steve and find it very disappointing that he’s appearing in a video with Davy Wavey. He’s genuinely talented and it will only harm his credibility to be seen with such a vapid, shallow joke like Davy.
Matt Achine
@MacAdvisor: Blather much? Don’t tell me what to do. If you get off on those guys, that’s your business and you weren’t “deprived” of a damn thing. My criticism is of them and this site’s obsession with them. Comments are for whatever we want them to be. This sure as hell ain’t jealousy either, because I maintain a great physique.
@Hussain-TheCanadian: I’d like to show up at one of his concerts while he’s ironically, fully dressed. Just to scream “show us yer tits!”
Armiya
@macadvisor just like you have the right to read such mindless tripe, I’m also allowed to express my total boredom with the subject matter of both. Don’t like it? Follow your own advice and piss off!
Hussain-TheCanadian
@Matt Achine: LOOOOOOL……love it…..He is a cutie.
MacAdvisor
Matt Achine and Armiya: I suggested a solution to your complaint. You don’t like reading about Davey and Steve, don’t read about them. The question is why do you feel compelled to spoil the good time those of us who like them are having? I suppose the Wicked Witch (Maleficent, if you are a Disney fan) has the right to show up a put a curse on the baby, but doing so sure wrecked the party.
Queerty will stop putting up articles about Davey and Steve when the click throughs don’t bring enough viewers to the ads so the page doesn’t generate enough revenue. If anything, your clicking on the article helps keep them going.
Therefore, your behavior is not only that of a party-p**per, but self-defeating, too.
My advice was to not click on articles that don’t interest one. That is precisely what I do. I do not click on them and then post a rant about how much I dislike the topic.
TylernKY
But u just did
bamboo_child
i bet all these comments saying “ew DW is so annoying” or “omg so narcissistic!” are probably fat, ugly, have small dicks, haven’t been laid in months, or all of the above. PRETTY HURTS BITCHES
surreal33
Mr Grand, Mr Grand, Mr Grand, I recently discover your music and I liked it however, I also heard you speak and your attitude turned me off COMPLETELY!!! Now you have put the final nail in the coffin by teaming up with Davey Douche!!!!!!!!!! One day I will learn NOT to listen “artists” speak candidly because the fantasy is so much better than the reality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
surreal33
I can help with that, the dislike of Davey Douche, stems from the fact that he is an INSULTING, CARICATURE, of a gay man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
junk4sts
So you have to watch the video to comment intelligently, so I watched. There was nothing offensive or even any bad advice in this video, so from a content point of view, I’d say it’s an okay video, of course, there was nothing said in this video that any semi-intelligent person couldn’t figure out themselves either so no eye opening “Ah Ha!” moment either.
I have to admit, I won’t be subscribing to either of these guys channels, DW is just not very entertaining to me, and he’s not someone who I’d choose to hang around with, but he’d probably think the same of me since blow jobs and hook-up apps and gay sex in general are not all that interesting to me (I like the idea of gay sex better than the reality of it, which IMHO, is nasty if you’re into the anal sex thing and to make it not nasty means sex is on your mind way in advance of the actual event, which just takes the fun spontaneity out of it, even a simple blow job with the wrong person can be beyond gross, but I’m thinking that’s a true thing even in a straight situation – but I digress)
I can understand how too much DW can be off putting to a typical guy (sexual orientation of that typical guy doesn’t really matter) there is just something annoying about DW’s public persona, that can’t be put into politically correct words, but who knows, maybe the real person is more of a “real person” and less of an “act”.
As for Steve Grand, like other’s have said, he’s nice eye candy, and has some talent in the singing department, but I think that maybe he, like Michael Sam, puts too much attention on being gay and not enough energy into his craft. For his part I don’t think it was Michael Sam’s intent on being a gay poster child, the media might have done that too him, but in Steve’s case, he’s doing it to himself.
Let’s face it, if the numbers are true, only 10 percent of the population identifies as gay, and we are not at the point yet where the other 90% care to hear about gay struggles in their music. Steve Grand could probably be a commercial success, if he really wanted that. That being said, Only Steve Grand can decide what success means to him, and he should live the life that makes him happy. It is possible to have commercial success as a singer and performer and be open about your sexuality, I think Ricky Martin is making that work, and Adam Lambert may also be making that work as well.
Dave Downunder
I always thought $$$$ on a profile meant they were hookers expecting to get paid.
Maleko
@AJAnders: Does Wavey get paid for any of this? Does he even have a job other than his video stuff?
onthemark
I’d like to see Davey Wavey interviewed by the New York Times, just to see them call him “Mr. Wavey” a lot.
Stefan
They get paid from clicks (and so does Queerty), so we all, unfortunately, just made Davey Wavey $$$$$. I would gladly pay $$$$ for Davey Wavey to do away. I’m not sure why Queerty promotes him, when the comments are 99% negative.
mozzer
A$$HOLES!
DMRX
@MacAdvisor: ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! I couldn’t agree with you more.
For the haters of DW, I always want to ask, “jealous much?”
Dixie Rect
Cannot believe this site still talks about that awful Davey Wavey. Ick.
GillyMonster
No opinion on the personalities but what’s with that basement murder room they’re filming in? 50 Shades of Brown in there, with the wooden ladder/staircase, a throw pillow from Aunt Helen’s tapestry emporium, and the sadness bed shoved in a corner! And do not get me started on those wicker chairs …
