Sheesh! People are really hating on Another Gay Movie: Gays Gone Wild, the spring break-themed sequel to AGM. Seattle Times‘ John Hartl described it as “forced and sometimes desperate,” while the Philadelphia Inquirer ripped the sequel “colder creature with little heart.” But, seriously, what do people expect?
Stinker!?

I agree guys, I have not seen it yet but am going into it just like the other movie knowing it is going to be VERY silly and worthy of a laugh. I am looking forward to it! Some brainless humor is good from time to time.

My issue is that the only actor returning from the first movie was the worst one. The over the top queen who looked 20 years older than anybody else in the movie. I mean his character was so weird that he wasn’t even funny. Why the hell is he the only one coming back?!?!!?
Matt
I mean come on guys. Isn’t Brent Corrigan a merman in this movie and his big tag line is i’m a fish and i can’t have sex with you b/c i don’t have a butthole.

“But, seriously, what do people expect?”
How about gay media that doesn’t pander to the lowest common denominator and reinforce the stupidest stereotypes possible? How about some quality instead of buffed up circuit queens?

the film is funny and hot get over your prejudice already….

i watched a preview online and it ended with a quick shot of the “manhunt” logo.
was the film financed by that site?
ps
i noticed that all the “sexually viable” leads look “white”.
honestly, i’m sick of “gay” mainstream culture perpetuating “white” representational hegemony.
it makes our communities look retrograde and insular, at the very least…
i will still rent the dvd at some point because i love rupaul and the lady bunny, but come on!
it’s 2008.
where are the gay films that show a truly integrated gay community?
noah’s arc is fine, but that is still segregation.
i want non-“white” gay kids to be able to see themselves represented in gay art and media as sexually viable heroes and protagonists.
drag queens and exotics are fabulous, but the onus is on gay filmmakers to create non-“white” gay heroes.
don’t front, marys – you know i am correct.

the first was so bad. no need to spend $ to see the sequel.

I think I need to make something clear to some of you guys. This is “Another Gay Movie”. This is on the same lines as the “American Pie” flicks. Lowest common denominator is kinda the point. Just see it and have fun. It’s not a freakin’ documentary.

why can’t gays have tasteless comedies too? Does every film about gays need to need to be a typical sad fag” film like brokeback mountain? (somebody died in that film… remember people!)

I’m absolutely disgusted with myself that I paid money to see this movie. It was not funny in the least. Yes, I do have a sense of humor. It is basically a 90 minute soft porn movie – I wondered why I didn’t hear the porn music going. I’m also not a prude, I would f**k most of the guys in the movie if pressed, but that’s all this was – was 90 minutes of eye candy and sick/degrading jokes. Can’t we do better than that!??

I don’t mind tasteless comedies. Love them, in fact. But the first one sucked, even by the low standards of the genre.

Note to Cam: I completely agree about “actor” Jonah Blechman (who was so godawful in the first one he should change his name to “Bleccchhman”). I suspect he is the only coming back because — oh, call me crazy — he happens to be the executive producer of this sequel. Seriously. I thought the first movie was OK (apart from Blechman) as low-brow fluff, but I don’t think I’ll join the queue for this one. Even if I suspect it’s going to be a very short queue.
