The post was published earlier this month by Reddit user throwaway15935745625, an allegedly straight male stoner who wrote:

I’m quite a hardcore pothead but I quit at some months of high intensity studying. I feel very attracted to girls and not at all to men when sober, but when I get high I just want a big cock to suck and a man who fucks the shit out of me.

Anyone else happens to have the same effects? Just curiosity, not that it really bothers me since I’m still attracted to girls while high, but I sometimes feel wierded by male friends whith [sic] whom I don’t usually feel attracted to.

Naturally, the post sparked a big reaction among Reddit users. Over 120 people responded to the inquiry, with their replies ranging from sincere and helpful to hilariously stupid.

“Sexuality isn’t just black and white,” LitteringgAnd wrote. “Nothing wrong with being sexually attracted to the same sex at different times in your life.”

“Sexuality isn’t binary,” gwvent added. “People tend to fall somewhere on a spectrum. It’s totally normal to be curious and want to experiment. Maybe being high just makes you more open to the idea?”

“My circle calls this Highsexualism,” PapaTua chimed in, “You sir, are possibly a highsexual.”

Suspected Kabbalist shoebotm suggested that perhaps the man’s ego is to blame:

Maybe it’s the boundaries of your Ego dissolving when you’ve reached that ‘transcendent’ state, so your guard is down an your ‘true’ self rears it’s head. I’d be curious to how this would work with LSD, I’ve had friends come out or reveal/discover those feelings while tripping.

Then there was this pearl of wisdom from someone by the name of Photonomicron:

Occasionally wanting to suck a dick when blasted out of your mind doesn’t make you “gay”, but go for it if you want. If you sobered up and then felt the urge to curl up in a burly man’s chest and be held by his big muscled arms until the world passes where it’s safe and warm and have some kisses on the cheek and THEN suck his dick, that’s a better sign that you’re truly homosexual. Either way, do what thou will and don’t feel any need to assign labels to yourself or formulate an explanation story for others.

Realizing one is sexually attracted to members of one’s sex whilst high on drugs isn’t as uncommon as you might think, according to Brainstream420: “A good friend of mine realized he was bisexual while on acid.”

“Weed seems to break down some barriers for me,” fearachieved concurred. “I definitely explore my latent ‘gay side’ while high… I’ve only stuck things up my butt while high.”

“[D]rugs of pretty much any kind make me very horny,” cbarrett1989 confessed. “[M]ost of the time I’ll fuck my fiance but sometimes I have to jerk it so I think about the guys I’ve been with. No big deal bro, do what feels good. That’s what I do.”

It sounds as though throwaway15935745625 may have followed this advice because afterwards he amended his original post to include the following post script:

After that happened for a few time [sic] I decided to have sex with a guy. Maybe its because I’m just 19 and he was like 23 but I felt so grossed that I couldn’t go beyond oral sex.

So there you have it, fellas. Sometimes straight guys get high and think about doing gay things, then they log onto Reddit and talk about it.
