You’ve likely heard by now that a far-right group called Super Happy Fun America is holding a “Straight Pride” parade in Boston later this summer.
According to its website, Super Happy Fun America wants to “celebrate the diverse history, culture, and contributions of the straight community.”
One of the group’s of three founding members is a man by the name of Chris Bartley, who identifies as gay.

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
On Wednesday, Bartley told Queerty he’s working to bring “Straight Pride” to Boston in an effort to “showcase how extreme the left has become.”
“My motivation to participate in this year’s Straight Pride is to make the far left realize how insane they have become and how overarching they are,” he said.
And now, the memes…

I always thought KHAKI was something a gay boy did in the toilet after too many appletinis – “Oh God. I just khaki’d the bathroom sink. No more drinks for me, grrls!”

Well………It should be interesting to see what happens……and just how many show up. HEHEHEHHEHE.

Well, ya can’t say there’s not EXTENSIVE click value for lazy websites in constantly highlighting time and time again these otherwise easily ignorable nonsense stunts. It’s almost like you revel in the outrage…almost like you have an incentive? You and these fools are equally toxic and deserve eachover
#co-dependent idiots
Cam
Notice the right wing tactic here?
Fake outrage that somebody is pointing out bigotry, and then try to subtly push the narrative that people pointing out bigotry is just as bad as the bigots.
Let me guess, you also go onto women’s rights websites and try to claim that being outraged as sexual assault is JUST as bad as assaulting people?
Nice try.

@cam Nice try you typically hysterical lying i d i o t! Pro Tip: Anyone who has to reframe and DISTORT the other persons argument has NO valid counter argument!
Three insignificant guys —THREE GUYS!—started this troll…and these outrage click posts and “witty” tweets AMPLIFIED it into something more SIGNIFICANT. Expect much more of this because of easily manipulated fools like you. Well done i d i o t, you woz played!
Donston
Social media has made it too easy to troll people. And the “queer pride community” is perhaps the one demo on social media most obsessed with victim mentality and being outraged. Then you have all these lame “allies” looking for every opportunity to show some “support”. Then you have “gay media” looking to hop on any story that gets them clicks. And it all just builds from there.

Looking at all the memes I can’t help but think this is all in fun and not something to be taken seriously. Idiotic but not serious. Whether or not that’s the case the whole thing is getting far more attention than it deserves. So much for letting it quietly die down. Nope, media has to get outraged and give it more power.
As an aside, what protections are being sought in the Puerto Rican Pride Day? You don’t have to be downtrodden to have pride.
Brian
It really does have the potential for comedy gold, although most of these memes are pretty meh. But this is the right approach, to make fun of it and have fun with it instead of getting outraged by it.

Except for the first one I was pretty disappointed in the meme quality too. That first one was funny though, lol. Stupid Chik-Fil-A.

The guys are just upset that they can’t rape a drugged out girl any more without going to jail and the women just want to have sex with someone under 300 pounds. That’s what Straight White Pride is all about.
sydboy007
Why is this racist statement allowed to remain? If straight white was replaced with any other gender racial identity I’m sure queerty would be asking the mobs.
Harley
I can only hope there is a fast food restaurant nearby selling large milkshakes in throwable cups.

Please explain why you are against an organisation that states the below? It’s like being against poverty reduction.
Super Happy Fun America advocates on behalf of the straight community in order to build respect, inclusivity, equality, diversity, unity, solidarity, dignity, social mobility, empowerment, sustainability, justice, awareness, intersectionality, human rights, education, access, participation, dialogue, visibility, tolerance, and alliances with people from all walks of life. We encourage everyone to embrace our community’s diverse history, culture, and identity regardless of sexual orientation.
Donston
The people who started this have made it clear that this isn’t about “inclusion”. It’s about pettiness and bitterness, internalized phobias and self-resentments, and feeling some type of way about there being a span of time when you’re unfortunately not in the spotlight. Only faags who are sycophants for straight guys or the naive or the homophobes or the anti-gays would believe that it’s anything beyond that. That corny and hollow statement is an obvious cover, especially since people from the origination have already made quite a few hateful and loony comments.
I find a lot of this Pride stuff to be generally exhausting myself. I feel as a society we should have moved beyond this quite a while ago. While too much of it is about narcissism or identity, as opposed to being about honesty, freedom, understanding yourself, being with and loving who you truly want to be with and love, expecting respect from society and expecting to be treated like human. Just like this “straight pride” nonsense is mostly about “I want some attention”, so is too much of the “queer pride” stuff. However, at least there’s a reason for its existence, and being undermining and petty is not the best reaction and isn’t particularly progressive.
Brian
Your first clue should be that this “organization” is called Super Happy Fun America.

Why “on behalf of the straight community”? I don’t get that part.
How can you claim to be for inclusion when your opening statement is exclusive?
I agree with Donston. When who you love is no longer news or grounds for a parade, when no one gives a shit what you call yourself, that is when there will be equality.

Nailed it, Donstan. I don’t need to go out in public and make a display of myself, especially half nude and nasty looking. Besides, no one would want to look at my overweight and saggy old body! 🙂

Donston. YOU win the internets today! Queer Pride.

I love a parade!, Can anyone come? How do we dress for the occasion? I’m not sure about the pants, Khaki? What other outfits can one wear? I’m getting too old to wear pants below my ass. What does one bring with you to this type of parade? What kind of pride is there in being straight? Hmmm
