We don’t claim to know much about what’s happening on The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE), the ITV2 show described as “the UK’s Jersey Shore,” but we’re forced to occasionally check in on the cast mostly because it includes reality hunk Dan Osborne.
In this week’s season finale, Osborne officially took his love for the gay community to the max by kissing gay cast member Bobby Norris on the lips. Or, as the Brits say, the boys “shared a cheeky snog.”
According to The Mirror, the kiss happened amid Bobby’s attempt to repair his relationship with ex Harry Derbidge. Not sure how making out with a straight man can win back your ex boyfriend, but we’ll take it.
Add this to Dan’s extensive portfolio of homoerotic goodness. Check out some of his greatest hits below:

Snog, not song.
Billy Budd
Straight guys should do that more often.
litper
Again, this filthy straight-worshipping propaganda!
Fidelio
@EdWoody: booo I’m disappointed now. Song sounded cute.
Maude
I don’t care much for ‘tats’, but in his case I’ll make an exception.

Yawn and zzzzzzzzz. Are we supposed to fawn over a straight guy kissing another guy? I’ll pass.

In my neighborhood there are 6 of those on every corner and 12 in the local gym. Just want to get it in there before someone else does.
Niall
He needs to not become one of those people who are aware of the gay following they have and do stuff like this to “tease” gay fans.
Dxley
What a yaaaaawwwwwwnnnnn!
DjARD
Oh yeah. Nothing gets me hotter than a straight man displaying his privilege by trivializing the desires and actions of those who aren’t straight by appropriating them because he’s “progressive” and a “tease”, thereby reinforcing his society-given ‘superiority’.
So sexy. So cute. So much better than me!
odawg
@litper: Agreed!
Goforit
@litper: I am so thankful that I wake up each morning NOT being you. What a hateful little life you must have to spew so much anger in every one of your posts on this site. You poor thing. I would recommend a different therapist. The one you have now is not working out very well for you. OK, bring on the hate. I’m a big boy and can handle it just fine.
Stache99
@DjARD: Great comment.
Billy Budd
@DjARD: You are just being a bitter queen. He gave a nice example.
litper
@Goforit: it’s so funny to see the rage of all straight-worshippers like you.
Billy Budd
@litper: He is not a straight-worshipper. I don’t divide humanity in straight/gay categories. I think of people as human beings above everything else, and any demonstration of love, brotherly love and acceptance of others should be regarded as a good thing.
DjARD
@Billy Budd:
Oh, I see. You’re one of those types.
The ones where black people aren’t different from white folks at all. Where gay people are just the same as straights, it’s just who they like that are different.
Yup. We’re all humans. But we’re all different, and many of us have privileges that others don’t. Like Mr. Osborne.
Regardless of his intentions, he’s doing exactly what I said he’s doing. He’s coming from a point of privilege, of societal given superiority. He is above us, we are below him. You see, he can appropriate the things we hold dear, the things we still fight for – our ability to publicly kiss and show love for our same sex partners. And then he can go back, and never have to face the anxieties we face, because he holds privilege. Is this making any sense?
If Dan was truly an ally, he wouldn’t be doing what he’s doing. Because all he’s doing is enforcing the status quo, through some variant of ‘faux’ acceptance. He’s, in effect, taunting us – “look at what you can’t have; but wait, I still totally accept you!” It’s homophobia and heterosexism under an accepting guise. See, if Dan was a true ally… well, he wouldn’t be writing for Attitude. He would’ve given that position to a gay or bisexual or some other queer man who more fit it. When he walks down the street with his girlfriend, he’d recognize with every step that some people around him don’t have the rights (or, even if they do, must face a much larger system of heterosexism that makes them feel like they don’t) that he does. He would stop courting gay mags.
Is it all well intentioned? Yes. Does that ever make all this a great, wonderful thing? Nope.
Billy Budd
@DjARD: Of course he wants the publicity. Nobody is innocent. But his act sets and example, a good one. I think you are being an overanalyzing nut. Please take no offense.
JJ24
@DjARD: Dude those are your issues not his, if you need someone to tell you it’s ok to kiss your boyfriend thats your issue. I have no issue with PDA whether that be a romantic kiss with a boyfriend or a friendly peck with my straight best friend, and if I did it would be on me not on him.
“See, if Dan was a true ally… well, he wouldn’t be writing for Attitude”
Segration is not ok and that is what you are suggesting. It’s mentality that keep bigots from seeing us as equals.
JJ24
@Billy Budd: I agree completely we are all human beings and things like what gender you love don’t matter. Affection whether romantic or friend based is a beautiful thing.
friscoguy
@Goforit: Funny but you sound like the mean hateful girl to me for attacking someone who is making an observation on a story that does not involve you.

Can’t see the man for the ink.

Dan is hot.

Not knowing who this guy was before, looking at that photo of two guys, the guy on the left whose face is obscured by the smooching made me think of a character from later seasons of the American series Queer as Folk, Profesor Ben Bruckner played by actor Robert Gant. From the additional photos, I clearly see it’s not him.
cosmos1234
He has a beautiful body, not to keen on his looks though, just average, and he’s straight !
