Tarleton State University Cannot Let Students See Jesus Go Gay On Stage

The curtain for the production of Terrence McNally’s Corpus Christi at Tarleton State University, the public college outside Dallas/Ft. Worth, was moved from 4pm on a Saturday to 8am, and only invited guests and the family of the cast will be invited, because the school of about 6,000 “has a responsibility to provide a safe and secure educational environmental for students, faculty, staff and visitors.” Was it because the play depicts Jesus as gay, or because he’s shown watching television?

UPDATE: Even the invite-only production has been canceled.
