Theodore Anthony Nugent—star of such reality programs as Runnin’ Wild… From Ted Nugent, Surviving Nugent: The Ted Commandments, and Wanted: Ted or Alive—spoke to CNN last night about gay sex. During the interview he said that the idea of man-on-man sex repulses him and goes against nature. But more importantly he also said he would accept a gay son and “If that’s what you are I love ya… I’m not going to judge another’s morals…I say live and let live. Gay?… Ultimately all that stuff is inconsequential for the spirit of an individual.”
In the past he also suggested that “the NBA should host a Homosexual Night” to show their support for gay rights after the Kobe Bryant slur. And you know what? We agree with him on both counts (and hope the people who bought his 30 million records are still listening to him now.
Maybe tonight, CNN will explore why they turned to a heterosexual American rock guitarist for opinions on gay sex.
Now please enjoy these images of his past work.

So he is repulsed by gay sex, big deal! I know plenty of gay guys that are repulsed by hetero sex.
jason
But I suppose he’s not opposed to lesbian sex, eh?

Jason, quite! That’s the blatant hypocrisy of most straight males. Not too bright if you ask me. They may love watching two women get it on, but if they had a daughter who turned out to be a lesbian then that would be quite another issue, I’m sure. I’m so sick of those ignoramouses and their stupid, immature behavior towards us. They need to growp up and address the insecurity they have about us and the internalized homophobia from within.

Well good for him for being sooooo “tolerant”. But, lose the tiresome “it ain’t natural argument”. Read a book, Cat Scratch.
Hundreds of animal species would disagree with his asinine and erroneous view of what’s “natural” in their lives. He should really try studying some living critters once in while before he blows them to pieces.
Besides, where in nature (unlike where homosexual pair-bonding is “actually” found) do you see any animal (besides humans) worshiping some animistic creator god/spirit? Where, in nature, is the Great Squirrel God worshiped or the Holy Cow found among the bovine (I mean, besides Human Hindus)? Also, no other animal flies unless it was born with wings, and no other animal (besides humans) can move faster than its limbs can carry it. So, it is best to stick with the conclusion that the nature of one animal is not the nature of another animal, and keep out the one size fits all stupidity in defining “Nature” altogether.
Also, I too could be personally repulsed by heterosexual sex (if it were thrust upon me), but I don’t have to profess that to other people in an effort to trumpet my homosexuality. Why do people like old Tired Nuggets feel that their heterosexual identity depends so much upon convincing other people that they do not dig gay sex, and that it gives them a case of the vapors every time they have to think about it while they masturbate to lesbian porn? That’s really pretty low brow, insulting, and very insecure of them. …So, please grow up Ted and stop repulsing me with your uncontrollable “icks”.

Jesus Christ, the man says his philosophy is to live and let live, and yet the militantly miserable people on this site will find something to hate about him, because hating others is what the gay movement is all about these days, apparantly.

@Southside Shorty: Just remember that on almost any blog about politics or culture, people with negative comments are much more likely to respond than people who just think “me too” or “yep, that’s right.”
So don’t make the error of assuming that comments on any board reflect consensus on any topic (well, unless scientific polling suggests otherwise).
The cranks & gripers thrive on the chance to spread their own misery. In some weird way, doing that seems to make them feel better about their own sorry selves.

Ted Nugent said Live and let live? Hundreds of animal species have homosexual sex .. naturally. How many homosexual animals has Ted killed?
Daniel
@Kev C: To be fair, I doubt Ted aimed specifically at gay animals, though he certainly could have made an attempt to at least ask them about their sexual identity before shooting.
Kev C
@Daniel: I’m sure Ted has eaten a few homosexual animals. Jes saying.

Southside shorty, get a grip. Saying he’s personally repulsed by man on man sex sends the gay bashers, bullyers and murderers as well as religion-based bigots a loud and clear message that its ok to commit crimes against us as well as discriminate, whether Nugent believes it or not. Its not about spreading the misery around, on the contrary. There is a lot that heterosexuals do which repulses a lot of us including adultery, pimping prostitutes, incest, straight sex-trafficking, pedophilia both straight and gay, the soaring rape crimes against women, but we don’t go around spewing it right back at them because of their orientation or who they are. By the way, straights engage in anal sex too, wife swapping and straight swingers’ clubs, but I suppose Nugent would ignore that because they’re straight.

Well his “Live and Let Live” philosophy is no doubt influenced by the fact that he actually had himself named “Guardian” of his underaged girlfriend so she could move in with him and he could avoid any statuatory issues. That doesn’t even go into a scary interview given by his daughter years ago about some really really underaged girl he brought home. So when somebody like that is saying that it’s gross, I take it with a grain of salt.
That said, I appriciate his pushing the right to calm down on gay issues.

I am repulsed by seeing him in a loincloth. *vomits* Now THAT goes against nature.
There, I feel better.

@Cam:
If media matters or the gay activists could get off their sanctimonious asses to dish up dirt about these religious nut jobs, we would win but alas, it’s so much better to do nothing.
Cam
@Right Wingers Are Socioptahs (John From England):
We agree on this point. It’s weird, they all act like they all think that it is still High School and their only goal is to have one of the cool kids like them and say “Hi” to them at lunch time.
Southside Shorty
@Jeffree: I see your point. Thanks for pointing that out.

Ted Nugent is a repulsive hillbilly know-nothing who shouldn’t be allowed on TV in the first place. Why doesn’t he tell his NRA buddies to have a Homosexual Night at one of THEIR meetings?
Rainfish

Yeah, perhaps they can wear designer sheets at the next NRA sponsored “Gay Night” meeting, and the Pink Pistols could cater the affair. 🙂

I’m repulsed by pukes that boast to urinating and defecating their pants to avoid serving their country. That’s what nugent has admitted doing stating it in numerous interviews to dodge the draft during Vietnam.

Ted is the butt of just about every joke God plays on man. And just because someone “says” something; does not mean that they abide by that.
Let me give you an example, “I am a puppy dog.” Obviously, I am not, as my paws don’t utilize a keyboard well. So, learn to trust people by what they DO, not what they SAY.
Only a pack of nitwits listens to Candidate Obama say, “single-payer” health insurance is the best, and then watches him, as President, work behind the scenes to ditch the concept in legislation, then ditch the “public option”, then work to include “co-opts”, then offer to defund “co-opts”, thens totally defund medical “co-opts”. We know from his actions, that President Obama supports status-quo for-profit insurance (as opposed to actual healthcare). Sorry to hit that tangent – but it’s the best available example of how one masterfully says one thing and then takes action in the complete opposite direction.
Don’t trust what Ted says – his history isn’t going to win any GLBT Awards or Humanaterian accolades.
