Republicans like to say Barack Obama “pals around” with terrorists or has ties with Muslim extremists, but that hasn’t convinced Al-Qaida. Supporters of the terror group said this week that they support Senator John McCain’s candidacy:
Al-Qaida supporters suggested in a Web site message this week they would welcome a pre-election terror attack on the U.S. as a way to usher in a McCain presidency.
The message, posted Monday on the password-protected al-Hesbah Web site, said if al-Qaida wants to exhaust the United States militarily and economically, “impetuous” Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain is the better choice because he is more likely to continue the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“This requires presence of an impetuous American leader such as McCain, who pledged to continue the war till the last American soldier,” the message said. “Then, al-Qaida will have to support McCain in the coming elections so that he continues the failing march of his predecessor, Bush.”
Why are we not surprised?

That’s the naked part of the Emperor’s New Clothes (ie The Patriot Act, Homeland Security, and the Iraq war). Bush and McCain are not making us safer. Their policies have made al-Qaida stronger and given them more reasons to want to attack us. The occupation of Iraq has made Iran stronger.
Osama bin Laden is still at large–$1 trillion and 4,100 American lives later. Yet McCain/Palin keeps insisting that we are “winning.” What the hell are we winning?
The only reason there was an attack on American soil in 2001, the first since 1812, is because Bush ignored the warnings, including the August 2001 memo entitled “bin Laden determined to strike U.S.”

speaking of LOSERS
I saw some footage of that saggy old QUEEN Mitch McConnell and it was PATHETIC.
He was in some tiny diner pressing flesh with the Early Bird Special crowd, and almost pleading for these folks to look at ALL THE EARMARKS he brought back to Kentucky.

A cursory look at the history and politics of terrorism (yeah, it’s not just crazy guys with bombs, there’s kinda a weird and warped political logic to it), suggests that the goal of terrorist acts for centuries is ultimately to bring down governments, but that terrorists rarely believe that any single act of violence that will do the trick: it’s the creation of a climate of fear and terror in the population, coupled with the target government’s inevitable response of subjecting its population to greater and greater oppression in the name of stamping out perpetrators, that will (in theory) eventually turn the population against the government, leading to the ultimate victory of the terrorists. That’s what motivated bin laden’s video shortly before the 2004 election: he’d much rather have a simple bush to fight against, than a kerry who would have been a more complex enemy less likely to annoy Americans.
Bottom line lesson of the day: Continuing to elect republicans to high office = the terrorists win.
