Bubba Watson is a terrific pro golfer and 2014 Masters Tournament winner who just happens to be a big ol’ homophobe. With a name like Bubba Watson, we know you’re just as shocked as we are.
OutSports has a timeline of Watson’s homophobia, which started last year after Jason Collins rocked the sports world by coming out.
In a 2013 interview with Christian Post he made it clear that he “respects” Collins but that he believes that being gay is a sin.
“I’m not saying he’s wrong, I’m saying I love him. If he called me right now and said, ‘Hey,’ or any person that was gay called me, I’d go to dinner with them any time. It’s just my belief system on the Bible says you can’t be gay. That’s a sin. So somebody living in sin I believe to be wrong.”
Hmmmm, perhaps instead of having Jason Collins over for dinner he can invite those Duck Dynasty guys instead?

Collins seems to be too busy making history and we’re sure Watson would have more in common with the Duck Dynasty cast anyways. They like to run their mouths a lot about gays and “sin” too.
It’d be nice to see an out gay golfer give Watson a smackdown in the next Master’s, but to date none have been bold enough to step out of the closet yet. Perhaps Bubba’s boneheaded remarks will inspire a pro golfer to come out and take him down.
We don’t watch golf, but we’d watch that.

@DonW: Yes, there are more than 200 species of animals where gay sex is extremely common. This is widely documented in hundreds of scientific papers. It was discovered that for some species, gay sex is actually more common (in terms of frequency of occurrence) than straight sex (!). Please read the book “Biological Exuberance”, by scientist Bruce Bagemihl.

I mean this is a man who has made much, if not most, of his money by working on Sundays.
