MEN IN UNIFORM

The California National Guard Announces Recruitment Booths At San Francisco Pride

32We never thought we’d live to see the day the American military would set up shop between two booths selling dildos and designer underwear, but that’s exactly what’s going to happen at this year’s San Francisco Pride festival.

For the first time since the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, the California National Guard plans to have a static presence at this weekend’s festivities in San Francisco. With over one million people expected to attend the annual march, The San Francisco Chronicle reports that recruiters from the CNG and openly gay soldiers will be on hand to “answer questions about life in uniform” at two separate booths.

Last year, the CNG sponsored similar recruiting opportunities at Pride festivals in San Diego and Los Angeles.

“At the end of the day, we’re a community-based organization, too,” said Capt. Shannon Terry. “So we need to look like our community.”

Hopefully the boys manning these booths won’t be too cute. A man in uniform could sucker us into signing up for anything…
