The California National Guard Announces Recruitment Booths At San Francisco Pride

32We never thought we’d live to see the day the American military would set up shop between two booths selling dildos and designer underwear, but that’s exactly what’s going to happen at this year’s San Francisco Pride festival.

For the first time since the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, the California National Guard plans to have a static presence at this weekend’s festivities in San Francisco. With over one million people expected to attend the annual march, The San Francisco Chronicle reports that recruiters from the CNG and openly gay soldiers will be on hand to “answer questions about life in uniform” at two separate booths.

Last year, the CNG sponsored similar recruiting opportunities at Pride festivals in San Diego and Los Angeles.

“At the end of the day, we’re a community-based organization, too,” said Capt. Shannon Terry. “So we need to look like our community.”

Hopefully the boys manning these booths won’t be too cute. A man in uniform could sucker us into signing up for anything…

      @jeff4justice: I totally agree, plus there is nothing to celebrate in the assimilation of queer movement

      Ah yes… the twin teabaggers:

      You might want to keep up with the present news. Military suicides have nothing whatsoever to do with GLBT military personnel. More right wing extremist myths.
      Find another dead bone to gnaw on.

      @Dakotahgeo: lol ur funny
      Jeff didn’t say LGBT CAUSE suicides. I say LGBT have a lot of suicides, as soldiers do. LGBT soldiers mean double stress.

      And no Jeff seams to be liberal
      I am libertarian
      I like LGBT
      I don’t like the military
      and I think LGBT have no need to fight the stupid wars, that straight ->rightwing<- idiots make all over the world to fight their closet monsters.

      I'd prefer to see all soldiers making hot porn instead of murders ^_^

      @FairyQing: Yes, that I can accept. My apologies to you both. These right wing extremists are getting to me. Kudos!
