We’ve been mostly avoiding all news coming out of this week’s CPAC event, because originally we thought this was a comedy tour. And then we realized the people involved in this event are some of the same people responsible for terrorizing America’s LGBTs, and really, do they need another platform? But then CNN’s cameras orchestrated a little handshake between GOProud and the National Organization for Marriage, and aww, isn’t that adorable!
It’s a meeting of the minds; the most ineffective gay activist group meets the most effective anti-gay activist group. Hoorah!
This crap, however, is not so adorable:
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

After the amazing progress made with NOM, next on GOProuds agenda:
> Association of Jewish Nazis
> The African American Klu Klux Klan Asssociation
> The Islamic Fundamentalist Gay Alliance Leauge
Can’t ya just feel the love????

I’m sure keeping my fingers crossed that Queerty will eventually have a video clip of Stephen Baldwin at the CPAC, slated to preside over a special nighttime youth event (even though he’s 43 years old). Maybe it’ll be a workshop on mortgage defaults, re-negotiating tax liabilities, Hannah Montana tattoos or starting your own “born again” ministry. Sure hope he doesn’t have to use a conference center restroom & stand next to any of the GOProud boys at a urinal, that could get ugly.
Sug Night
“GOProud” is such a misnomer for these stupid, self-loathing fucks!
Hey Terr, what about
> Mask or No Mask : How to Look Your Best in Front of a Ugandan Firing Squad
Dennis
Gag. Vomit. Wretch. Dry heaves.
A pox upon every single GoProud member or supporter. (what are there, like 2 or 3 anyway?) Uptight ‘mos always bitch about how the drag queens, dykes on bikes, etc, “make us look bad” at Pride when we get coverage on the nightly news…but these twisted sisters have taken it to a whole new level.
“Delusional Corporate-Worshipping Second Class Citizen/Fags For Continued Abuse” just make us look friggin crazy…I know there have got to be so many straights who must be thinking…”gays at CPAC, WTF?”
ousslander
I agrre with dennis those damn second class citizens should have voted for Obama
J. Clarence
I watched the video on CNN’s website, and just a technically point the organization is “GOP Proud” and not “Go Proud”, correct?

@Sug Night: I think they have that one scheduled for Sunday afternoon…………..

@ousslander:
No, McCain/Palin would be our champions, right? Too bad they didn’t win, we’d be SO much better off. In fact, we ALWAYS have multiple legislative advancements for our rights under Republican leadership…Let’s recap all the republican sponsored and supported LGBT rights wins we’ve had…oh, wait, there are none! Golly, that’s a suprise…
McCain, who’s just flip/flopped on DADT, and Sarah ‘maybe she’d deliver the State of the Union from hand notes’ Palin…would be better for us? Right? Wouldn’t that be great for LGBT advancement?
Obama’s far from perfect, and you can f*ck off just the same.
Ousslander
They would have done as much as obama has/will, which is nothing but at least they wouldn’t lie to our faces about while taking our money. Was it not a dem that gave us doma and dadt? So you might want to look in the mirror to see some true self loathing. How those fields coming along on that dnc plantation?
i already jacked off but thanks for the suggestion
dave
I wonder if any of these folks have served in the military?
Dennis
@Ousslander:
We have DOMA and DADT because they were the shitiest but most workable compromises available at the time to keep the ravenous rethuglicans at bay…if they were NO republicans in power, do you really think Clinton would have faced A FUCKING FRACTION of the resistance he encountered in attempting to repeal DADT? Really? Are you that delusional?
When did a rethuglican candidate EVER run on the intention of repealing DADT? Tell me, when? Clinton would have chosen DADT freely, if not for the Repubs (and senior military brass with repub tendencies) frothing at the mouth at the prospect of open homos in the military?
and every single fucking time a bill is introduced in an attempt to harm us or limit our rights, it is REPUBLICANS who are the majority of the force behind it. Praise Jeebus, bless the rich, screw the poor or the unconnected, and bash the homos is the Republican way. Where are all these Republican sponsored LGBT legal protections you apparently believe exist? Name them or STFU!
Deal with reality, bitch…and fuck off again.
Ousslander
@Dennis: What a poor delusional thing you are! I never said they sponsored anything. If the dems n your messiah are so pro gay, why haven’t they used their majority to pass beneficial legislation?
So ascared of your use of caps and acronyms. Simply shivering.
Never said fuck the poor. I do believe in personal responsibilty and do not want support others on my dime, which i work hard for. You should try it. Muah!!!
Dennis
@Ousslander:
You can’t name one thing that republicans have done for LGBT people and yet you complain about Democrats…the only party who has had any track record of LGBT support.
The Democrats struggle at being effective, in large part, because of Republican opposition….(the party of “No”, record number of fillibusters, corporate shills? any of this ring a bell with you?)
You apparently want to live life as a gay person free from hatred, and discrimination, and yet all you seem to have is praise for our (would be)oppressors, and criticsm for our sometimes ineffective defenders.
If you have no interest in supporting the advancement of LGBT rights and protections, then it is you who wants to ‘enjoy the hard work’ that others have done, and contribute nothing in return…and you are nothing but a ‘freeloader’, riding on the coattails of liberal activists, and benefitting from the struggle, sacrifice and hard work that others have done in an attempt to create a more equitable society. Pretty dispicable, if you ask me…
Please don’t ask to benefit or share in the priveleges that these activists have worked for…snuggle up to your tax cut, and pray that it protects you from discrimination and hatred, but it seems you want the benefits of activism, the benefits of a more open, more equal society, without supporting any of the work it takes to bring about that reality. If that’s the case, IMO, you are nothing but a money grubbing hypocrite…hmm, that sounds like a gay republican to me.
You can’t name one republican sponsored advancement for LGBT people because there aren’t any. Plain and simple…No republicans = far less discrimination attempts directed at LGBT people.
I have no respect for your version of “personal responsibility”, and no more time to waste on you…make sure to get your tickets early for next years CPAC, sounds like you’s enjoy it.
Ousslander
You s@Dennis: You sure pegged me. Why anyone exists that doesn’t strictly conform to your ideology is beyond reason. Maybe you should set up some reeducation camps. No sense trying to work with people or change their opinions, just off with their heads.

You know, I think Tony Perkins is right. I bet you most Americans think our service members are at some posh hotel resort in the middle of Iraq, sipping cocktails while hanging out at the pool. How f’n stupid does Perkins think Americans are?
Tom Minnery, I bet, is getting a stiffie when he’s talking about the “confines of military life” and the thought of all those hot, sweaty, young, beefy men in the barracks.
How senile is this James Lyons since he’s speaking of the late 1900’s as the hey-day of gay sex in the military??? Is he f’n serious? I guess he doesn’t remember those olden times when being homosexual would get you kicked out of the services.
It’s beyond classically hypocritial David Keene is bitching about people who don’t know how the military really works when, as far I can Google, he’s never served in the military. The most classic thing is I guess he doesn’t think the people in charge of our military really know that much about real military life…
What gets me is how easy it is to knock these right-wingers off their platforms.
