The Homophobic Tweets Of A U.S. Senator’s Son

How far does the fruit fall from the tree? That’s a scary question to consider when it comes to Sen. Jeff Flake (R.-AZ) and his son Tanner. As it turns out, Tanner has been using his Twitter account to plaster slurs across the internet, including homophobic, racist and anti-Semitic comments, proving he is an equal opportunity jerk.

“I’m done to own some faggots,” reads one of Tanner’s tweets.Another reads, “To the faggot who stole my dirt bike from the church parking lot, I will find you, and I will beat the crap out of you.” Clearly, any lessons of charity Tanner may have learned in church didn’t make it out the front doors.

The Flake family is not gay-free (whose is?). A cousin, Kent Flake was in a long-term relationship with Matt Salmon Jr., himself the son of a conservative U.S. Representative for Arizona.

“I’m very disappointed in my teenage son’s words, and I sincerely apologize for the insensitivity. This language is unacceptable, anywhere. Needless to say, I’ve already spoken with him about this, he has apologized, and I apologize as well,” Sen. Flake said in a statement to BuzzFeed, which broke the story. With any luck, Tanner has been grounded. Until he’s about 40.

This is the family values argument against marriage equality? Maybe Rep. Flake should stay home to provide the much needed adult supervision and leadership for his spawn. By the way where was momma while daddy was diddling with congress?

  • Taliaferro

Why does this young man feel such a great need to spew vitriol against those not like him? Where was the parental teaching that would have allowed him to see worth in all humans? Where are Christian or ben human values? This family is typical of those in politics where all the grand speech about family values is just a front for thinly veiled hatred and intolerance.

@Taliaferro: Yeah, the Dad is a Republican!!!

  • MikeE

well what do you expect.. they’re just a couple of flakes.

  • s312g

This little asswipe learned this kind of hatred from his father. I highly doubt that
    he actually feels bad.

People, my apologies for this random post, but I am hoping you might go to a YouTube video about bashings at a Pride Parade in Serbia and post comments to rebut the tide of LGBT hate. Some are calling for all gays to be killed, gassed, bashed etc, others post “God Hates Fags” type comments. It helps if you vote down the video, and vote down the hate comments, as well as vote up the supportive ones. Even better, if you feel inclined to post a comment of your own too!

You can skip past the intro ad in a few seconds.

This is just proving that not all young people are evolving their opinions about gays..they’re just camouflaging them with political correctness….

Balehead, Consider the source. This spawn is the fruit of Flake’s loins. Gross family.

Queerty, why didn’t you report on the racial and anti-semitic slurs that were also included in this kids tweets?

  • Little-Kiwi

the problem is not merely the language – the problem is the sentiment. you’re a bigot and you taught your son bigotry.

f**k you piece of s**t family.

  • Sammy Schlipshit

It seems pretty obvious to me the only thing that father and son are upset about is the fact the cretin son got caught being his self.

  • Atomicrob

    What is with that state?
