This week the Ku Klux Klan released a statement supposedly distancing themselves from the Westboro Baptist Church. But even though they disagree with the WBC’s habit of protesting soldier funerals, they do “agree with many of their teachings, especially that Homosexuality is an abomination before Yahvey God the Father.” Hmm… doesn’t the National Organization for Marriage also see gay marriage as an “attack on religion”? And who can forget the lovely “hang the gays” sign proudly featured by one of NOM’s enthusiastic supporters? Turns out NOM, the KKK, and the Westboro Baptist Church all agree on something! Maybe they should just all start sharing signs and uniforms so there’s no confusion about what they stand for.
LOVE THE SINNER
Cam
Oh Please, the KKK agrees with Westoboro, they just think their P.R. could be better.
It’s the same way that Carie Prejean agrees with NOM and WEstboro, but she just thought that by saying things with a smile after 2 hours with a make-up artist was a better way to present her bigotry.
They both like the same bigoted dinner, Westboro just adds a little more salt to it.
Miss Understood
There’s no “L” in “Ku”.
PLAINTOM
Are you really surprised?
WTF???
You know Queerty, I find it quite hypocritical that you would dare post anything about the KKK when the fact of the matter is that many who visit this site post’s are identical to the rhetoric that many radicalized hate groups use and example of this could be found under the story covering Don Lemon’s coming out by Gary ex: He’s just a kneegrow. No one cares. (Posted: May 16, 2011 at 5:18 pm)
the heading: Celebrity Outing Turns out to be CNN’s Don Lemon. Do you Care?
So Queerty.. again how dare try to show that the KKK agrees with Westboro or NOW or any other group when several on Queerty post are so racially charged with hate, and goes without any recourse.
hmm!! WTF
WTF???
OOps!! Correction.. sorry to NOW 🙂

Maggie Gallagher and Brian Brown(Shirt) would wear their hoods proudly, but sadly their heads are too fat.

Enough with the hyperbole please.
This reminds me of when the government wants us to go to war, they suddenly start claiming that whatever leader they want to attack is “Just as bad as Hitler”.
So somebody on one post said something racist and so you claim that Queerty should never say anything about the KKK?
I’m sorry, but I guess we should all go and talk to the families of the people that the KKK hung, burned and blew up and tell them. “What are you complaining about, what happened to YOUR relatives is NO different than one anonymous post on a blog.
Get some perspective please.

Ummmm…..whi didn’t anyone make a big deal over the fact that the KKK supports Prop 8 to give Maggie something to REALLY work on disavowing?!
WTF???
@Cam:
Cam.. my fair fellow. It was an example not a hyperbole, but that of many examples here on this site. I did not want to run the risk of writing out a full on essay, so I chose one of the most recent racially charged comments permitted by Queerty. Trust me when I say, I could have easily presented more examples for my argument. I’m not quite certain if you gotten the point that I was making, but rather than to bring about snarky, comments that illustrate the wealth of my intelligence, I would ask for you to do some research for yourself and to take another look at the comments made frequently on Queerty. More than a few are extremely racially offensive.
And yes, anonymous post or not, it would be a step in the right direction for Queerty to address such things as inappropriate.
Thank you for your time and concern.

@WTF???: Queerty rarely censors anything, including homophobic trolling on a gay blog. A site like this is a double edged sword: you get to say what you want, use profanity, be snarky, rude, nasty, etc…but that also means you gotta put up with offensiveness from people who oppose the site’s intent. So, which would you rather: censorship or freedom of speech? Oh, and I am black, btw.
Cam
@WTF???:
1. I don’t think you know what hyperbole is. I wasn’t refering to the comment as hyperbole. I was refering to your comparing that comment appearing on here and then claiming that it was as bad as the Klan. THAT is hyperbole.
to basically say that Queerty cannot say anything about the Klan because somebody posted something on here you didn’t like is….all together now….HYPERBOLE.
And it’s just silly.
holycrapthisistoofunny
LMFAO
the kkk is still around??? and they still wear those dumbass sheets???
too funny
only in america
WTF???
@Cam: At the risk of indulging your attempt to insult me, I am quite aware of what a hyperbole is and what it is and most importantly, how it is use in everyday vernacular.
Now I will have to give tremendous credit to Shannon 1981 for wonderfully and very eloquently describing the premise of this site for I am assured that the intended message that I post was interpreted and well understood. Thank you for your excellent insight Shannon 1981.
@Cam, I somehow get the impression that what is describe by Shannon 1981 is just the type of venomous energy that you wish to project and for that I am deeply sadden if that is truly the case, if it is not, then I apologize for making such a rash judgment upon whatever may be your true intent may have been.
Consider this an end of dialogue if your reply to me is less than gentlemanly and forthright with insight as to grow and expand upon knowledge.
And lastly to answer your question Shannon 1981, I would perfer freedom of speech, but also with that comes the being held responsible for what you say.
Ruhlmann
They dress funny.
Shannon1981
@WTF???: Yes, be held responsible. But something maybe you don’t realize is that the point of Queerty is gay/news/culture/ agenda, if you will…with a heavy dose of snark. Hence, the writers and the commenters are often deliberately nasty to some degree. Those are the kind of folks attracted to such a place.

Good post. I learn something new and challenging on sites I stumbleupon everyday.
It’s always useful to read through articles from other writers and use something from other sites.
