A scene from Boy, the new film from Filipino director Auraeus Solito, that updates the plotline from Trick: “A young poet sells his comic books to afford a one-night stand with a macho rent-boy on New Year’s Eve. However, their relationship will not end that night as the boy in question will learn to accept his sexuality.” It premieres this week at the Torino GLBT Film Festival.

The Gay Numbers
I loved Trick. The whole point of the movie was denying oneself instant gratification. So, it’s amusing to see a film that’s on the basis of your description about gratification being classifed as a follow up to Trick. Trick was about the romantic nature of finding someone. Is that this movie?

The premise only seems a bit more risqué than Trick. Unless the Rent Boy in question is absolutely devoid of emotion, I’m assuming something will happen and they will fall in love and he will stop being a Rent Boy. It sounds like your common gay coming of age independent movie.

A true comic book fan would not sell his collection for a one-night piece of ass, especially the comic-book reading newb that’s in the background. He basically just needs a flat-iron and a tight v-neck. Good to go.
@ J. Clarence: I totally agree with you.
