One hundred of the world’s hottest ginger men from Brazil to Russia have been gathered and shot by photographer Thomas Knight for a new, large print coffee table book celebrating the inherent sexiness of men with red hair.
The book, titled Red Hot 100, is a follow-up project to Knight’s wildly successful “Red Hot” photo exhibition in London. As we previously reported in December 2013, the “Red Hot” exhibition aimed to fight the nasty trend of gingerism and flip the ginger stereotype on its head by showcasing redheads in a sexy, masculine and confident way.
Red Hot 100 will continue to fight gingerism by featuring quotes from models, many of whom “have suffered prejudice or discrimination as a direct result of their red hair.” Knight writes: “This is a book that is not only pleasing on the eye, but also holds a mirror up to current perceptions of male beauty and asks the question, why are there so few ginger heroes or heartthrobs in western culture?”
With 17 days to go before Knight’s Kickstarter campaign to fund Red Hot 100 ends, almost 90 percent of the final goal has been funded. Check out an official trailer for the project below.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

Inherent sexiness? Right, because guys with freckles, sunburn, yellow teeth and hideous red nips are at the top of everyone’s list.

“This is a book that is not only pleasing on the eye, but also holds a mirror up to current perceptions of male beauty and asks the question, why are there so few ginger heroes or heartthrobs in western culture?”
Because we’re only 2% of the world population. But we are sexy! ;p
Tracy Pope
@KDub: Your snarky comment makes me wonder how many redheads have you actually encountered?
Just like pheomelanin challenged folk we come in many different shades. I have no freckles, my teeth are white and my nips are brown.
All skin types sunburn.

@KDub: Absolutely at the top of my list muthafucker! Nothing sexier than ginger pubes. Mmmmhmmm!
SteveDenver
Nice presentation, but the onslaught of redheads against turquoise begins to make them look like one flavor. I wish whomever had shot this did the Neil Patrick Harris cover for Rolling Stone that looks so washed out and uninspired.
Mezaien
I just love red head big time especially the red Afro.
trebornos
@KDub: These guys are gorgeous – super-sexy! Wonder what you look like, eh?
sejjo
Oh my, they’re cute. May I take one or two home? I promise I won’t hurt them.
KDub
Soooooo there are obviously 6 redheads in here…
Cam
Gingerism?? hey, hot is hot, if a guy is good-looking I could give a shit if he is blond, Brunet, redheaded etc… If people are going to not date somebody who is cool, and good looking because they don’t like red hair, then don’t bitch when your friends all have boyfriends and you don’t.
Tracy Pope
@SteveDenver: Photographer Anthea Pokroy has been working on a similar project for several years. She presently has more than 500 models.

We do come in many different shades and hues.

I’ve had a crush on Ginger Prince Harry ever since he “overcame” puberty.
drivendervish
@Cam: I’m with you! Some guys I find super hot and some guys I don’t and it has nothing to do with hair color, eye color, etc. I have fallen in love with blondes and guys with black hair and everything in between.
Billy Budd
I’ve never had a ginger guy before. If you’re ginger and wants to visit Brazil, get in touch with me. There are almost no gingers in the country.
mgmchicago
Beautiful ginger men… love the creamy skin.
BTW – The photographer’s name is Thomas Knights (with an s, possessive is Thomas Knights’)
Says so at the end of the video (and on google)
CleJoke
ADD THE BENHAM BROTHERS TO THE LIST PLEASE
WuzUpYall
Sorry, but orange-colored pubes make me want to hurl.
Cagnazzo82
My favorite type of men have dark hair and light eyes.
But, I guess gingers would definitely rank up there in the hierarchy.
Perhaps above blond guys I think.
pierrot
It doesn’t matter what a guy’s hair colour is.
If he has a handsome face and toned body, then he is hot regardless of hair colour
inkpeninmd
@kdub, you need to check your glasses. These guys are hot. And no, I’m not a ginger.
KDub
Never needed glasses. I have great vision! They all look the same to me (with the exception of the obligatory black guy). It’s just not happening for them.
Ridpathos
Redhead guys can be extremely hot. However none of them in that video were, save for maybe one.
Kangol
@Mezaien:
Yes!
The movie Gingers has lots of hot redheads, fully nude too. (Though no red afros, unfortunately.)

The prejudice against redheads or gingers may seem trivial or even rather bizarre but it has its origins in the anti Irish and anti Scottish history of English history when red hair was synonymous with being alien and therefore a danger to England .
To this end Judas Iscariot was depicted in folklore as having red hair .Of course outwith Anglo Saxon cultures ,in Europe for example red hair is viewed rather differently and is often ,mistakenly, regarded as a sign of true original celtic and European heritage.True ,redheads are in possession of a particular genetic code which sets them apart from other Europeans and one which does not only result in red hair or fair skin but in the end it all adds to the wonderful diversity of humankind, as is often said nature may hate a vacuum but she loves diversity.

I love ginger in my meals…or as a snack. Hot is hot..it doesn’t matter what color the eyes, hair or skin might be. Hot IS hot. Everything else is NOT!

Wow! Hearing about this book and reading some of the nasty comments on here are a real eyeopener. I never knew Gingers went through such torment and discrimination. I’ve always loved them and find most of them VERY attractive. I wish there were many more around so I could date one of them. I’d take any one of these guys.
I’ve heard of some of the silliest things (being gay, being left handed…) people get discriminate against and now it’s red hair?!! It’s not funny, but I am almost ready to start laughing. HAIR COLOR is now on the list of things to hate people for…is their ever and end to any of this?
Please, send all the Ginger Men to California you want. They will be greeted with open arms and treated like the royalty they are. 🙂
musclemutt
“Gingerism” is not in the Oxford English Dictionary.
I never heard about gingerism until South Park, although I’m familiar with the phrase “red-headed stepchild.”
I propose that “gingerism” betoken the cult of loving redheads, and that its adherents be called “gingerists.”
The love of my life was of French descent with their destinctive auburn red. He died of AIDS in 1983 at 27.
He was completely beautiful inside and out.
Juanjo
KDub obviously has a few different mental disorders given his comments. There is always one like him everywhere.
Pete
My first ginger had dark red hair, pale skin, and a bush so vibrant it looked like it was on fire!

Seems it’s mostly just a fetish for some people – the guys are attractive, but their hair color isn’t really a reason to desire (or not desire) them, kind of like sprinkles on a good cupcake, with or without the sprinkles the cupcake is just as yummy.
People tend to fetishize (is that a word?) certain things, Tattoo’s (will never understand this one), foreskin, (another wierd one), eye color, skin color, hair color, body hair, abs, piercings, this list could go on, but in the end, it’s the soul of the person, that matters, the rest is just fluff.
