On this week’s Melissa & Joey (watch it here), the ABC Family show where two men tango together, the show’s high school gal Lennox (niece to Melissa) faced a rumor going around school that because she was bringing a girlfriend to a dance, she must be a lesbian. Except — plot twist — Lennox loved all the attention the lesbian rumors brought her! That wasn’t the case with Constance McMillen, of course. That Mississippi teen was banned from the ultimate of school dances: the prom. But it’s a riveting enough story that ABC Family wants to turn it into a television movie. Rest easy: the project is in the hands of producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who are gay, and we already know the happy ending.
