Just days after calling Americans “whiny,” Rupert Everett employed the same adjective for British troops. “The whole point of being in the Army is wanting to get killed, wanting to test yourself to the limits. Now you have to fly 15,000ft above the war zone to avoid getting hit. I don’t think there is any point in having wars if that’s how you’re going to behave. It’s pathetic. All this whining!” You sound like an asshole, Rupert. Please stop. [Telegraph via HuffPo]

He must’ve overflowed his Depends again.

Damn, doesn’t he ever get tired of whining?
Nitesurf
The term STFU must have been INVENTED for Rupert.

Dear Jesus: Please dispatch Rupert at your earliest convenience in the most excruciating manner possible.

He’s really gone over the edge, hasn’t he? The whole interview is chilling and borderline.
Puddy Katz
Did Rupert ever spend anytime in arms? Will he fight for queen and country?
Jack
Everett really is tragic, isn’t he? Whining about people whining. Sad, tired old queen.
When he presented the UK’s ‘Friday Night Project’ for an evening, he talked about how he’s involved in fox hunting, and took part in an initiation ceremony where he was drenched in the blood of a fox. People have been sectioned under the Mental Health act for less than that.
He should be flown out to Iraq to fight alongside the troops. See how long he lasts.

how is it not cowardly for the most technologically advanced army on the planet to drop bombs from planes on innocent civilians who can’t even afford food? hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children have been massacred, millions more displaced and handicapped for life, and i’m supposed to care about the soldiers who killed them, blindly just doing what they’re told? the soldiers who are truly brave are the ones who refuse to do what they’re told, the ones who risk everything to speak out.

That may be the single dumbest comment I’ve seen yet on this site.

Not satisfied with my earlier remark? How about this…
Your assessment of the U.S. military is repulsive. It’s a war…people die. But the U.S. is not the one going in with the intent of killing civilians. Sadaam Hussein WAS…in Kuwait, with the Kurds, etc. Were you as vocal an opponent of him gassing curds, dipping dissidents into vats of acid or cutting their tongues out? Were you in favor of the U.S. pushing Hussein back to Baghdad when he attempted to have his military rape their way through Kuwait and eliminate the country? Our bombs were pretty useful then, no?
All military personnel are dupes? Worse than that, morally agnostic dupes who do what they’re told and don’t think for themselves? For shame, FRI.
And the brave ones are brave simply because they refuse orders while in service (which puts the entire unit at risk)? Are you @#$%@# kidding me?
FRI – I would bet you think of yourself as some enlightened progressive. Yet, judging from your comments, you’re a reflexively anti-American pseudo-intellectual who smears our troops as they put their lives on the line to protect us.
I stand by original post: “That may be the single dumbest comment I’ve seen yet on this site.”
And one of the most disgusting too.
