Tiffany & Co., the only fine jewelry retailer dedicated to naming a color after itself, has launched the Tiffany & Co. Engagement Ring Finder, an iPhone app that helps wedding hopefuls choose from an array of digit adornments. It looks like it’s only sporting engagement rings in lady styles for now, but otherwise it’s actually quite useful — you can even size your ring right in the app! It does not, however, feature a U.S. map showing where gay customers might actually use one of these things. Beware: The app also lists pricing information for its Lucida and Legacy cuts, and the placement of the comma after the dollar sign is no picnic.

Am I the only one who things that the whole engagement ring tradition is really stupid? Relationships are supposed to be based on love, not on one partner’s ability to prove his (or her?) willingness to spend lots of money.
