The trailer for Spacey’s first film since he was blacklisted from Hollywood after being accused sexual assault by multiple men has just been released.
Billionaire Boys Club is a drama about a group of wealthy young men who get wrapped up in a Ponzi scheme in 1980’s Los Angeles. Spacey plays gay con artist Ron Levin. It is based on a true story.

Last October, Spacey was fired from Netflix‘s House of Cards after actor Anthony Rapp alleged Spacey had made a sexual advances towards him when he was 14 years old.
In response, Spacey apologized then came out as gay in an effort to distract from the scandal. Rapp’s allegations led to several other men coming forward with similar allegations about Spacey, prompting the 58-year-old actor to check into sex rehab.

Filming for Billionaire Boys Club began in December 2015, long before the allegations against Spacey ever came to light, and wrapped in January 2016. It will be released this August.
The movie also stars Ansel Elgort, best known for his role in romantic teen drama The Fault In Our Stars, along with Emma Roberts, Jeremy Irvine, and Cary Elwes, who plays Andy Warhol.

To be fair according to the article it was filmed in 2015-16, before the allegations started.
The question for me, why didn’t they Christopher Plummer him out of this movie (I.e. recast/reshoot)?

As the article stated, filming began two years before the accusations of sexual misconduct came to light. This also explains how dead actors can continue to have films released posthumously: they are shot before the actor died and post production completed afterward.
A film represents millions of dollars invested, and is unlikely to be abandoned by the producers. So this really isn’t Kevin Spacey’s comeback and, who knows, more allegations of misconduct on this picture may be become public.

Kevin Spacey WAS one of my favourite actors, but now every time I watch a movie with him in it I can’t disconnect him/his character from him raping/attempting to rape young men/boy’s.
It wasn’t some “bad publicity” or “what he did behind closed doors”, it was repeated behaviour over several decades right up till the House of Cards set and the theatre in London where he was running the show. That behaviour being having/trying to have sex with underage boy’s/men.
Now I am all for forgiveness (To a certain extent) when someone has done something wrong, but only when that person has owned up to their wrongs and faced up to the consequences of their actions. Which so far Kevin Spacey hasn’t.

I’m a multiple time sexual assault survivor. And guess what? The first time happened, when I was 14. I never let “bygones by bygones” with the man who did it, and the “courts” did nothing about him. Literally no one cared what happened to me, I was told I was obviously “asking for it”. I “must have done something to deserve it”. I’m 30 now, and I’ve only recently escaped the torment of what happened to me, because the man who did it died earlier this year. I spent almost 16 years in fear, just of that man. His death brought me closure that no judge ever did. Think about that, maybe, the next time you want to defend a rapist and pedophile.

Um, your situation seems completely different than spacey buddy. People need to look up pedophile and sexual predator, the latter which Spacey was; the former, not quite clear. Falling drunk on Rappaport and trying to kiss him but then stumbling out of the room hardly compares to what you seemed to live through. And grabbing some late teens and early 20’s crotches hardly qualifies as rape.

Spacey would fall more into the hebephilia category, though not exclusively. There have been several guys who say they either slept with Spacey or Spacey pushed up on them around the ages of 14-15. But yes, no matter how you flip it the dude is indeed a predator in almost every respect. And I wish it were merely grabbing a few guys crotches.

First he didnt rape anyone. Second he would have ALLEGEDLY stumble onto i forgot his name while drunk, and nothing happened.

If you were to stop watching movies with non irreprochable actors in it, you wouldnt go very often to the cinema.

Oh, look. A name that has never been seen popping up to defend Spacey. Spacey never defined any of the allegations and indirectly admitted to doing a lot of f-ed up sh*t. Also, he was criticized worldwide. It had nothing to do with America. However, I’m fine living in a “puritanical” world that doesn’t involve grown men trying to sleep with 14 year olds, grabbing plenty of strangers’ privates without any indication of them having any sexual interests in you, harrassing co-workers and underlings, continuously hitting on people who aggressively turn you down, randomly showing your penis in the middle of an interview then claiming that the interviewer contended with gay shame because they wouldn”t fvck you despite you being the closeted one, etc. I’m fine with that version of “puritanical”. Anthony Rapp was about 13, and looked 10, Spacey tried to hold him down, and Rapp escaped. The fact that you are trying to alter what happened is very telling.

I remember watching adventures in baby sitting. Rapps first movie and also the age and time Spacey made the move on him.
I was pretty young myself then but even I wouldn’t have made the move on him. Cute but he looked like a little ginger boy. Even younger than 14.
