Troubled Gay Publisher David Unger Resurfaces … Hunting for Media Investments?

kapferunger

You remember David Unger, right? He’s the Window Media chief who was forced out of his top job at gay media investor Avalon Equity and remains under the eye of federal investigators, who’d like to know where a sizable chunk of change went. So what to do when your reputation in gay media is stained?

Take up a gig at investment house Knight Libertas, where your job description includes finding investments in … media!

Libertas, which manages $1.6 billion, will look to Unger (pictured, right) to find companies in radio, TV, and cable. Which, to be fair, is an industry Unger knows well: At Avalon, he bought Cable Michigan for $435 million and flipped to to Charter Communications in 1999 for $845 million. He didn’t have such luck at Window.
