The future looks bright for Lafayette Reynolds, the True Blood token gay that can rock daytime drag as convincingly as he can shake up a group of bigots. Insiders following production of the show’s seventh and final season are reporting the flamboyant, magical drug dealer will skip certain death and end the series with a bang—a bang courtesy of a valiant new boyfriend.
Little is known about Drake, the new boyfriend who may or may not be played by Drake himself (probably not, but it would be pretty hot). Producers are currently auditioning the role, which they describe as a twenty-something “cross between Jim Morrison and James Dean…and insanely good-looking vamp [who] is a compassionate protector with a poet’s edge.” (On second thought…it might actually be Drake.)
The new man in Lafayette’s life is allegedly a “serious” boyfriend—serious enough to lay it on his new man at the drop of a hat. According to the casting notice, Drake’s role sounds like that of an emotionless sex machine written into the story because everyone on set wants to watch him have (simulated) sex with Lafayette:
The series-regular role calls for a twenty-something actor who is comfortable performing in simulated (and near-naked) sex scenes with another man in front of the director, assistant director, stage manager, script supervisor, camera operator, first assistant camera, second assistant camera, boom operator, production sound mixer, key grip, best boy grip, gaffer, lighting technician, makeup artist, hairdresser, costume designer, a half-dozen production assistants and Sally with craft services (who shouldn’t be peeking in but probably will be).

This show had such an amazing first season but it was all downhill after that…..happens to most shows, but I’m glad this one is finally being put to rest.

I really enjoyed this character very much. I just couldn’t stop laughing at some of his antic’s lol.
But,this doesn’t seem realistic. Why would Lafayette a very femm man end up with a very good-licking(lol) James Dean type white boy?
I mean…is it me or? does this really happen?

Let’s not beat about the bush here – True Blood has been very homophobic towards the concept of male homosexuality. The show deserves to be criticized for its homophobic attitude towards male-male sexuality.
