faux pas

Trump’s tweet body shaming Barney Frank’s “protruding” nipples just came back to haunt Ivanka

Another day, another unearthed tweet from Donald Trump‘s Twitter page that hasn’t aged well. This time it’s a snarky comment he made about former Rep. Barney Frank’s “protruding” nipples in 2011.

On December 21, 2011, Trump, then a reality TV star, tweeted: “Barney Frank looked disgusting–nipples protruding–in his blue shirt before Congress. Very very disrespectful.”

The body shaming remark was in reference to Frank, the first openly gay man to serve in Congress, speaking on the House floor about bank failures while wearing snug, light blue crewneck shirt and a navy blue jacket.

Cut to eight years later.

Trump, now President, sends his daughter, Ivanka, to the United Nations this week, where she has a near identical, ahem, wardrobe malfunction.

And don’t think people on Twitter didn’t notice…

Trump has not yet issued any comment on the first daughter’s “very very disrespectful” fashion faux pas.

In his defense, he’s probably a bit distracted by the formal impeachment proceedings that were filed against him this week.

Honestly, we’re much less disturbed by Ivanka’s blouse than we are by her being sent to the United Nations in the first place. Seriously, what is she doing there?
