You’d be forgiven for thinking Taylor Swift’s new single “Look What You Made You Do” erred on the underwhelming side, but turns out it’s the perfect musical bed on which to lay Britney Spears’ “Toxic,” which perfectly fills in the abundant blanks, adding enough drama and melody that you start forgiving and forgetting the limp Right Said Fred sample.

A young producer by the name of Andy Wu MusicLand has taken it upon himself to mash up the two tracks — and the two videos — to make something wholly new and entirely listenable; two qualities “Look What You Made Me Do” conspicuously lacks when played naked and all on its own.
Maybe all the world’s problems can be fixed by simply plopping Britney Spear’s “Toxic” on top of them, but we’ll have to test that theory out one step at at a time. This is Step One.

That was fierce and absolutely fabulous. And I think people are reading way too much into it being about that underpants skidmark named Kanye.

So much better! Hate her new song.

WOW! The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. These two divas owe Mr. Wu some major thanks.

I kind of love “Look What You Made Me Do,” but I also have a fondness for atrocious pop music. This remix really does a lot to elevate the song.

Britney is a musical joke. America can do so much better.

Whoever did this is a genius. This is much better than the original.
