Jamal Parris and Spencer LeGrande were both paid hush money by megachurch Bishop Eddie Long to drop their lawsuits accusing him of sexual molestation. But after watching Long declare victory on TV once the settlements had been paid, one of the men couldn’t bear the anger, sadness, and silence any longer and he and another man decided to talk about it on national TV. Long has ruined these men’s lives. Could this re-open the case against the good Bishop? Let’s hope so.

I hate this behavior really bad man

To speak out about this on TV is incredibly brave of them. I hope they get the justice they deserve.

“Long has ruined these men’s lives.”
How so? They willingly became his prostitutes, then got paid even more after blowing the lid off the thing.
Katt
Well as much as I want to respect them. I can’t. They look like opportunist. All that “bling” and you know you are being looked at as a whore. Then you plug your upcoming book. Milk the cow till its dry. I guess Bishop Long stroke had it coming…
Dallas David
Bling or no bling, these guys were taken advantage of by this lying, manipulative preacher. They deserve their opportunity to expose that lying liar and all his lies.
As they say, you gotta ‘open a can of worms’ when you ‘spill the beans.’ And you can’t ‘let sleeping dogs lie’ when you ‘let the cat out of the bag.’
All in all, I hope everyone gets what they deserve in this little controversy. I hope that the abused fellows get their apology, and that the preacher gets to eat some crow, and his overly loyal supportors get a taste of reality, and the rest of us get to hang yet another Pharasee scalp on the wall.

@n00b: I guess I was a child prostitute since I accepted gifs and money from molester too

i would like too know from the accusers, how many times did eddie long sexually abuse them. if any one of them say more than once an i was eddie longs attorney, in court i would say these guys are gay, they wanted to participate. BUT if they were under age then there is a problem but from what we read,, they were of age. ps my oppinion about eddie long, he ought too be ashamed to even preach an expect to ack as if nothing happened
redmont
@dwayne todd: I don’t know if you’re just ignorant or what. Men get molested, gay AND straight, in infancy AND in adolescence. Being gay isn’t a requirement for getting molested, but having power over someone who trusts you is. That’s the issue. It’s so fucking annoying when people attempt to shame the victims. These two guys could be wearing all the, as @Katt says “bling” that they want, it doesn’t fucking matter. They can be gay or straight, it doesn’t fucking matter. When a little girl gets molested by an older man, does she have to be a lesbian for it to count? No. So stop it with that shit. They obviously gave up the money, @n00b, so there’s no need to say they just want the money or even the book. If I were them, I’d want to do much more than just write a book. I’d want to take this guy down through physical force if I have to, but that’s the selfish thing to do. The best thing to do would be to expose every lurid detail about this man, so many details that his sheen will tarnish, and that’s why they’re writing a book. It gives it much more credibility than a simple blog post or video would. Of course, it compensates them too.
When you’re a young and impressionable kid, you sometimes do things for the person you trust that you wouldn’t do otherwise. For some kids, needing that parental figure is so important to them, that they allow these things to happen because they can’t face losing that person they love. It’s a very complicated mess, and people that say “oh i wouldn’t do that” or “i’d kick his ass if he ever tried that with me” are looking at it with a different perspective. You already see him as an old perv, you have no prior history with this man, of course his advances won’t work on you.
Which is why it worked on them, because they trusted him. They had a relationship already, and he took advantage of it. They probably thought it felt good at certain times, and it may have. That doesn’t negate the fact that it’s rape. This is also why so many men don’t come forward about these things, the guilt that they might have enjoyed it on some level. The (so far validated) fear that other people will quickly just label them gay or say they wanted it. It’s bullshit.
I hope these guys get what they’re looking for, and I hope Eddie Long gets fucking crucified and outcast by his sheeple.

I can’t believe this pedophile pastor got a standing ovation. It never fails to amaze how brainwashed some people are by their faith. I just hope this pastor doesn’t pass around Jonestown brand Kool-Aid anytime soon. If he does, then his followers will surely drink it.

If one hasn’t been sexually abused, you can’t possibly know the affects. It’s like someone punching you in the chest and ripping out your wiring, and it just hangs there the rest of your life. Confusion and turmoil become your best friend. Everything gets filtered thru broken wires that lead to a total mental emot mess.
These guys thought the money would help but it didn’t so they may lose it. Good for them, it’s how they choose to heal. Let em have it any way they can as they were brutally and viscously attacked by this monster, however it is framed.
Justice would have Long locked up for life had the kids been one yr younger. He’s probably molesting again. He should be shot by a firing squad on public tv.

All this goes to show that many of these unaccountable, unlicensed, unprofessional—and unChristian—pastors are held to no code of ethics or standards. Sickening, absolutely vile.

@ Dallas David & redmont
Let me be clear about something. If those guys gave up the money to a chartity for those who were sexually abused, I would give all credit where its due. But them giving up the money in order to write a book, thats a business deal. That settlement split 6 ways may not be enough for these guys and they want to put out a book and maximize their profits. I can’t respect that. I’m not shaming these guys, they shamed themselves. They first approached Long for money to keep quite after he stopped supporting them and they found out about the other guys. He refused. They sued him and got money, now that’s not enough. This is not a case of victims speaking out for the good of the people. This is clearly a case of media whoring. The bling, the bravado- all clear signs of what is really going on here.
Kim
Katt Should all the victims of the Catholic priests give up there settlements to charity, too? Or Are these guys the only sexual abuse victims that should give up their money.
brando
@Katt: Who the fuck cares? If I could get money from the asshole who repeatedly fucked me as a kid while I cried, the same asshole who’s face pops into my head when I try to fucking have a healthy intimate relationship, and the reason why I’ve had to go to therapy for years with just baby steps to show for it, you can bet your ugly ass that I’d take EVERY. LAST. FUCKING. DIME. go fuck yourself with a stick, your insensitivity makes me sick.
@redmont: preach, brother/sister
Todd in DC
THEY WERE KIDS. Are you suggesting it’s ok to molest kids? Seriously? Just because Long is a preacher? If it were your kids, you’d accuse them of being prostitutes for the man?
You aren’t much of a human, are you?
