Here’s a new twist on a classic — another gay couple is claiming they were booted by their Uber driver after sharing an innocent kiss, but this time it was on a freeway!
Randall Magill, 28, and Jose Chavez, 26, a recently-engaged Houston couple, were on their way home from celebrating on New Year’s Eve when they suddenly found themselves on the shoulder of the Southwest Freeway, according to a report from KPRC-TV.
They claim that after their driver observed a quick peck in the backseat, he pulled over on the spot and ordered them to exit the vehicle, without seeking a safe drop-off point.
“I wasn’t doing anything that I wouldn’t have done in public. I’m not going to embarrass myself or my fiancé by any means,” Magill said. “I’ve never heard of anyone being asked to stop kissing anywhere, especially when you’re just peck on the lips.”
Wait, really? He’s clearly never seen this. Or this. Or this. Come on — know your genre!
Magill added that the driver attempted to justify his homophobia by saying he’d also told a straight couple to stop kissing, but that fails to explain why it was the gay couple who were left “on the corner of 59 and New Castle, right next to the concrete sound barrier.”
“He said, ‘I can’t take you no more.’” Chavez said. “He was like, ‘I’m going to have to drop you guys off,’ and we said, ‘That’s fine.’ I was upset. I’ve never been told not to kiss or anything.”
According to Uber, both the couple and the driver reported the incident.
Uber also sent KPRC their non-discrimination policy and added this head-scratcher: “As our community guidelines make clear, you shouldn’t touch or flirt with other people in the car…That’s no sexual conduct with drivers or fellow riders, no matter what.”
You hear that, people? NO FLIRTING.

II laugh that anyone thinks Uber is some kind of moral high ground to begin with. If you cared about anything other then getting the cheapest ride you’d know they could care less. Their motto has always been screw everyone including the drivers.

Amen. People are so stupidly self-entitled these days. You get what you pay for. And if you are going to use a company that preys on human misery, then guess what…

So true! I definitely know that these rideshare app companies consistently screw the customer. For instance, a Lyft driver filed a false damage claim against me and Lyft withdrew $50 from my account without warning. I contacted them and hey refused to allow me to defend myself against the claim. They basically told me to get lost. Thank God my bank reversed the charge. Ever since then I’ve decided that the cheap ride isn’t worth the potential head ache.

I have always had good experiences with Lyft. On two occasions where I contested charges, they refunded money. After Uber shrugged off the danger to cyclists from their driverless car experiments (saying that injury to cyclists was the “cost of progress” essentially) I vowed never to use that service.

What a shock, one of Mo Bros screenames “Knight” is on here attacking the victims of bigotry as “Stupidly self entitled” for expecting not to be able to hire a ride share without being involved in a bigoted incident.
The goal of those screenames is ALWAYS to defend anti-lgbt bigots.

I use lyft which ain’t much better but at least it seems to take care of the drivers a bit better. The fact that you can tip them makes for a happier driver. I think Uber does now but only after much lying and shaming.
Knight
Same with me. We’re on the same page

Oh and lastly this probably isn’t the full story. Uber rarely will side with the driver.

Uber’s list of questionable behavior is long, so I don’t doubt these guys and say either go Lyft or the taxi/car service route if you can afford it.
Me2
Lyft is just as bad, trust me! If you must use these apps, link them to a prepaid debit card and always have a plan B. My experience leads me to believe that Lyft runs a predatory service, to say the least.

You all are shocked that the Frat House of tech has issues with d’geyz?
Now that is funny,

EAT $HIT, UBER.

This is way over the top. This very incident could cause Uber to lose money all over the country. I imagine Uber had a lot of gay business on NYE especially – they may not now. What did their very short kiss do – there were no other riders in the car – so who was hurt by the kiss. The driver could have asked politely for them not to kiss in his car and out of respect I would bet the two guys would have done so. This is reprehensible on the part of Uber and the driver. They certainly were not flirting with the driver

Nah, the gays only boycott things that aren’t going to inconvenience them too much. Uber will still do gangbusters business taking people to and from gay bars.

Can one driver physically force two people out of his car?

Uber and Lyft are nothing more than unregulated taxi services. Unsafe and unprofessional conduct by drivers is exactly what regulation is supposed to weed out, so when you use an unregulated system and screw over licensed taxi drivers, you get what’s coming to you.

This story is like the idiot who buys a $10 television made in China at a swap-meet then takes it home and complains when it has no sound. You get what you pay for in life.

Uber has a long list and a long history of bad behavior. In Austin “RideAustin” is the way to go. Check out your local ride share company and give them your business!!!!

I still this story is fake to get likes for their porn careers….

First of all, all drivers for both uber and lyft are independent contractors and therefore are allowed to decided when and who and where they operate their business. All uber and lyft do is to connect them with people needing a ride. So Uber is the one at fault. If anyone has an issue it would be with the driver. And I know of several str8 and gay passengers that have been made to get out because they were making out. And I really doubt it was just a peck like they claim. Gays will give oral in public places so i bet they were practically having sex in the back seat

Hi, Being gay is a gift… I recently found out that my ex-Boyfriend who used to love me was put under a love spell by another man. They considered themselves as couples. It really broke me. I was really worried about him as to what could happen to him. I still loved him. We were in a ldr and I couldn’t see him… We still communicateDd from time to time but he made sure he doesn’t get found out by the man. Idt got frustrating as how he cannot see past the spell! I really wanted him back and also to be safe first and foremost and be away from that man. I also met Dr. Akim online and he helped me break the blackmagic on him and in 40 hours he called me and begged me to take him back. Akim’s website:https://prayerstosavemarriages.wordpress.com will be much appreciated if you contact him for marriage and relationship problems cos i promised to talk about him all over the internet 🙂
