The UK Version of 'Drag Race' Coming Soon!

According to an interview conducted by British news site the Daily Star, Jonathan Ross may be launching a United Kingdom version of RuPaul’s Drag Race. According to the article, Ross is hoping that he can become the UK’s answer to America’s favorite cross-dresser legend, RuPaul. Apparently, Ross will be getting beating his mug to make this show happen.

Additionally, Ross will be working with Jodie Harsh (who counts Kelly Osbourne, Lily Allen and Jaime Winstone as friends according to Wikipedia), a European drag queen, DJ, music producer and promoter. According to the Daily Star, at least one previous attempt had been made by Ross to get this project started with Harsh, but she “had to take a break because of some family issues.” Ross added, “We’re hoping to pick it up again in the near future.”

Jonathan Ross does seem like a strange person to be taking on this roll to become the face of drag in the United Kingdom, seeing as he is 53-years-old, married to screenwriter Jane Goldman and has three teenage children, two daughters and a son. It seems that this change has come because Ross is tired of “presenting”, which he has done so for 25 years.

For now, we just have to wait to see if it happen, but, in the mean time, let us know if you would be interested in seeing this possibility become a reality.

Here’s a picture of James Ross and Jodie Harsh.
