The New York Times have put together a compilation video giving an inside and behind the scenes look at Donald Trump rallies and it is every bit as disturbing and disconcerting as any rational person might imagine.
Judging by this video, Trump supporters are racists, homophobes, Islamophobic, misogynistic, angry, violent…and I assume some are good people.
Related: Trump Promises To Protect LGBTQ People, Twitter Reacts
Slurs are hurled from the crowd with the type of blind, unhinged rage typically resolved for cross-burnings and major sporting events.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
“Build the wall!” yells one slogan parroting supporter.
“Fuck those dirty beaners,” he adds.
Those attending various rallies are also heard calling for Hillary Clinton‘s death, making Islamophobic statements, a Nazi salute, complete with a “Sieg Heil!” yelling, “Fuck that ni**er!” about President Obama and “Get out of here, you f*g!” to a protester.
And that’s just some of the repugnant behavior on display in this eye opening video.
Trump has encouraged violent behavior, claiming he wanted to hit speakers at the 2016 DNC “so hard” for what they said about him, including one in particular, whom he left nameless, whom he said he wanted to hit “so hard his head would spin.”
Related: Why Donald Trump’s Flirtation With White Supremacists Is Really Bad For Us
When a protester was removed from a rally in Las Vegas in February Trump said he would like to “punch him in the face.”
He also promised to pay the legal fees of anyone who would attack protesters who might want to throw tomatoes at him at a campaign stop in Iowa.
“Have I been a good messenger? This is a movement like people have never seen before,” Trump says to a crowd at the end of the video.
You can say that again. Let us hope we never have to see it again.

There are angry homophobes, r a c i s t s and nuts of all varieties in both parties I’m afraid. Pretending that they’re only Trump supporters is being disingenuous.
DCguy
And now we will be subjected to all the Log Cabiners coming in here screaming that the Democrats hate lgbts and Republicans are really great.
Of course they won’t comment on the actual post because they can’t explain away or defend it. So they will just lie, and pretend it never happened.
Paco
@Kieran: I’m pretty sure Fox News would be all over any Democratic rallies that even remotely resembled the b!goted and homophobic Trump rallies.
Your psychological projection to cope with the reality of what Trump really stands for won’t work.
It really is frightening to watch Trump stoke the fires of hatred in his followers.
Paco
@Paco: add to that…
Trump’s rallies remind me of some documentaries I watched about white supremacists.

America throws a tantrum.
dwes09
@Kieran: No one is pretending they are only Trump supporters. But idf you look at images as opposwed to into your imagination you will see it is on the right where most of them are and where they feel free to vent their bile proudly.
Tobi
I wish Gore Vidal were alive to comment.
AtticusBennett
there’s a reason the cowardly Gay republicans that troll this site can’t show themselves – they’re just as worthless as these vile bigots. and they know it.
ErikO
Vote Jill Stein 2016!
Juanjo
@Kieran: I would love to see some verifiable evidence that your claim is accurate. It is certain that there are nut cases in the Democratic Party – the anti-vaxxers, the oooh I hate all capitalists etc but they are a rather small portion and they do not hold the reins of power in the party. In fact most of them this cycle are off voting for Jill Stein this election cycle. Out and out rac i sts and homophobes are pretty scarce on the ground in the democratic Party.
On the other hand roughly 40% of the Republican party is made up of fundamentalist Christians who are not at all shy about their dislike of gay people. In fact they enshrined it in the Republican Party platform this year and have been out publicly speaking about it on public media platforms. Similarly the Southern Strategy of the Republican Party started under Nixon and continuing to this day has resulted in gathering together all those who are upset about skin color pretty much on one party. it is NOT the Democratic Party either.
martinbakman
Good points above that some of the Trump fold are church goin’ brothers and sisters, bless their hearts.
@Tobi: Yes! Would have loved to hear GV and Bill Maher go a few rounds.
Alistair Wiseman
Yes, “fuck political correctness”, indeed.
When Democrats aren’t busing in and paying protesters to attend Trump rallies, its nice to see the difference of the general temperment of the attendees of the two political conventions in this short video experiment.

@Kieran:
Please show us an example of a Democrat at a political rally saying these kinda if things:
1)fuck that N***er
2)those dirty beaners
3)get out of here you fag
4)Hillary is a tramp
4)if you don’t speak English get out
5)Fuck Islaon & on & on
Plus, show me a Denocrat at a rally who:
1)runs around giving the finger with both hands and, for some reason lifting his back side and pretending to fart (charming)
2)giving a Hirl Hitler salute
3)multiple bullies surrounding one (1) person and physically attacking said person
4)women proudly defending sexual violence toward a woman
You started by saying “You were afraid…”
The problem is you are NOT afraid. You embrace these actions by simply suggesting that… Well, that’s just thevwaybthings are…
No no no. Things are not that way, if you think so then you are worse than the people who say and do these things.
Stop pretending that you are not a bigot… At least the people you seem to excuse don’t hide their hate.
As plainly as I can say it YOU ARE A LIAR.
Paco
@Alistair Wiseman: The only thing that video shows, is how many groups of people Trump has managed to anger with his vile, unfiltered rhetoric. After comparing how differently Trump and Clinton speak at their rallies, you honestly expected the same result? You want people to be tolerant of intolerance when entire groups of people’s rights are on the line with this election?
Hussain-TheCanadian
Fascism comes to the United States indeed; this was really hard to watch, and honestly even harder to understand. This reminds me of the Nazis and their take over of Germany; Jews are now Muslims, and Communists are now Liberals – This is insane, and the thought that most of these fascists are actually armed to the teeth is even scarier.
Creamsicle
The GOP’s 2016 platform is a brazen endorsement of all the hatred they have merely insinuated for decades. This election is our opportunity to extinguish the flame of that hatred. We need to defeat the GOP in a way that entertains no ambiguity. It needs to be a landslide victory in every place possible so that the GOP will never again espouse this level of intolerance and fear mongering. We need to show them that they have only to adapt or die and leave their dark age, anti-diversity policies to rot on the fringes with the KKK and Aryan brotherhood.
Alistair Wiseman
@Paco:
I see. So in your victimized world, individuals are not responsible for their own behavior? Wow! That Trump guy is powerful!
Then answer this: Why did the DNC Convention have FOUR miles of protective fence around the convention center? Because of crazed Trump supporters?
Not only that, why did the DNC podium platform have a wall temporarily built around it? To protect the DNC speakers from all those Trump supporters running around inside the convention center?
Kieran
Some of you dopes don’t even realize that Donald Trump and his “New York Values” is the LEAST homophobic GOP nominee in US history. Trump whipped the arses of an entire slew of real, rabid GOP homophobes (Cruz, Carson, Huckabee, Santorum, Perry, etc) without once resorting to gay baiting or gay hatred. On the contrary, he has extended the hand of friendship to gay American voters and openly acknowledged attending the gay wedding of male friends.
And yet you seem to HATE Trump with an unfathomable hatred because…..well, he’s running against Hillary, a Democrat who voted FOR the Iraq War, says she wants another War against Syria and probably Russia (for starters) and who has said she favors TPP—–because of course NAFTA has worked out so well for working class Americans.
Bob LaBlah
It is heavily tooted by ALL media that Trump is going to quit the race. Its just a question of when. Fox News reported that their poll indicated that he is now ten points behind Hillary and is also behind her in fundraising. Regardless of how many billions he claims he has he is not going to sink money into a losing ship, which even HE has to know he is fast becoming due to nothing else but his mouth.
If columnist George Will has abandoned the party and Charles Krauthammer no longer able to withhold his prediction of massive GOP losses in November due to this guy then he is finished. Already.
Paco
@Alistair Wiseman: OMG! they had too much security!!! Conspiracy!!!!
Thanks for letting me borrow your tinfoil hat.
Kieran
It was also heavily “tooted” by ALL media that Trump could NEVER EVER win the GOP nomination. They also “tooted” that his ceiling was—at best—20%. Wouldn’t be the first time the Media tooted wrong.
Kieran
Anybody who doubts that the Democrats also have their share of ANGRY, crazy, r a c i s t s need only look at the perpetually seething slimeball AtticusBennet as exhibit A, B and C.
Paco
@Alistair Wiseman: And you do realize, the President was speaking there. Right?
woodin
Sad commentary on middle America and one of own policy party’s have stayed relatively silent on the low caliber supporters their nominee is attracting.
Alistair Wiseman
@Paco:
What the hell does “conspiracy” have to do with it!?!
I never said they had “too much security”.
The reality is they probably didn’t have too much security, but not because of Trump supporters. Which apparently went right over your head.
Alistair Wiseman
@Kieran:
You are correct, but the majority of Queerty posters are posting not about gay equality and visabilty as a whole.
It is about promoting left-wing politics, not gay rights, visabilty and equality per se.
Hussain-TheCanadian
@Kieran: Have you seen the above video or are you just blind and def?
Are you saying that Trump is pro-gay while his supporters are not?
@Alistair Wiseman: Left wing politics and gay rights go hand in hand; while what is left of the Republican party has went full fledged fascist – The above video is proof of that.

Thank you for putting into words the powerful images collected by the Times. A great piece of journalism that answers the question what is it like to be at a Donald Trump rally? It’s obviously as exciting as a Bernie Sanders rally, the audience loves it. It’s the politician as rock star; an intoxicating elixir that goes to the head of any politician. He (the pronoun is intentional) is leading a cause! That is where the similarity ends. Trump is crowing “white men (again the intentional pronoun) matter more.” Homos have a right to exist as fags! They are here to service their heterosexual betters. This lesbo thing has just gone too far, what these chicks need is a stiff dick. Blacks have gotten too big for their britches. Obama is a black bastard who want to take everything away from the white man. If white man are to prosper, then black and brown must be underfoot. Besides a lot of these homos, hoity-toity beaners with their air have money that the law can take away from them. They are all into drugs anyway. They break the law and get away with it. Asset forfeiture in the hands of these guys would be a tool for seizing lovely homes and then reselling them for a song to loyal white men. We’re talking about a political movement that is targeting fellow Americans-namely us! Meanness and an eye for the main chance is driving Trump’s supporter. It will be the return of night stick justice and cops shooting minorities if these characters take charge.
Brian
The New York Times is one of the most homophobic newspapers in America. It has failed to mention the homosexuality of those who have passed on in its obituaries.
I even remember when the New York Times published a ridiculous article claiming that male bisexuality did not exist. Embarrassing.
Brian
Go to any Democratic Party rally and you will see tons of man-hating feminists. These feminists hate male homosexual desire as much as they do men in general. You will also see homophobic blacks with deep religious convictions.
dm10003
@Kieran: Wrong response.
Alistair Wiseman
@Hussain-TheCanadian:
Speaking of f@scists, the f@scist Queerty overlords just censored my post.
dm10003
@Tobi: GV was no fan of marriage equality, so as much as I love him he wouldn’t be as supportive as we would hope.
Hussain-TheCanadian
@Brian: Ok hold on there; didn’t you say on the other thread that Bisexuality is “fraudulent”?
Hussain-TheCanadian
@Alistair Wiseman: Welcome to the back of the bus, they censor me too.
dm10003
@Alistair Wiseman: You aren’t addressing the point of the article, you’re trying to change the subject with false equivalences.
dm10003
@Hussain-TheCanadian: The black church is fiscally liberal and socially conservative, so your assertion is incorrect.
Alistair Wiseman
Just this election season we have had an anti-Trump assassination attempt, a black Trump supporter shot in his leg due to his support of Trump and just today the Secret Service had to intervene on stage while Hillary Clinton was speaking due to anti-Trump protesters who potentially were a threat.
I don’t need a lecture on how the f@scists, crazies, etc. are only in one party. There is no purity in politics.
Alistair Wiseman
@Hussain-TheCanadian:
Why? I don’t understand it. We all know there are certain words you have to type strangely to get posted or you are sent to “moderation” to be ignored, but it goes beyond that.
There must be words, phrases, ideas, etc. in their program that censors the unwanted posts.
I have never experienced this kind censorship, the suppression of ones voice, on a conservative website.
dwes09
@Bob LaBlah: “Some of you dopes don’t even realize that Donald Trump and his “New York Values” is the LEAST homophobic GOP nominee in US history.”
I guess then his tacit (and at a few points very vocal) agreement with the Republican platform is some sort of warped love for LGBT people? He loves us so much he wants to spare us the weight of the same rights and responsibilities he enjoys (he loves us so much he is pandering with all his might to those who pray that the SCOTUS will “see the light, and a few new justices, and overturn marriage equality). I guess not criticizing the Republican thumbs up to repetitive therapy (faith based and empirically shown not to work) indicates he loves us so much he wants us cured of our sin. And i guess his desire to protect us from a danger that is hugely less pervasive than domestic dangers to our rights and lives, n fact to not even mention it, shows how deep his love for us is.
Do you ever actually live outside of your imagination?
Hussain-TheCanadian
@Alistair Wiseman: I think you’re right about Queerty having some sort of a program that looks for specific words and it censors the whole post – I also don’t think it gets moderated because none of my posts have never been “reviewed” and reposted.
Yeah Queerty needs to update their system.
dwes09
@dwes09: Whoops! Accidentally ddressed a response to the wrong poster. The reading glasses are dirty, and the laptop keyboard is small. Sorry Bob!
dwes09
@Brian: :”The New York Times is one of the most homophobic newspapers in America.”
I guess that is why The New York Times was one of the first to start running Gay and Lesbian engagement and wedding announcements in August of 2002.
Except in the case of famous people (and often in their case as well) Obits are provided by families or close friends. What is mentioned is what those people prefer. A persons’s homosexuality would only be mentioned if it were a part of their public persona or if they were survived by a same sex partner. As an example I had no idea Ellsworth Kelly was gay (a huge famous painter who lived a very private life) until the Times obit mentioned he was survived by his husband.
You really, really need to try living in the real world. It is wider and brighter than your imagination.
Hussain-TheCanadian
@dm10003: Perhaps.
@Alistair Wiseman: Come on now; I’m not a fan of the “Goddess of Death” Hillary Clinton either, but you can’t look at the above and say to yourself: “Yeah Donald Trump, that’s my guy, he represents me” – I mean the man is contemplating using Nuclear weapons for God’s sake.
As for the savages shown above, I don’t think they belong to any political party UNLESS this will lead to the beginning of the American White Nationalists party.
OzJosh
A lot of frightened, ignorant, angry, hopeless people. The funny thing is, in Trump terms, what they are is losers.
Alistair Wiseman
@Hussain-TheCanadian:
You probably haven’t seen my previous posts regarding Donald Trump.
I am a conservative, Trump is no conservative, so I don’t know who I am voting for in November. I only know who I will not be voting for this election – Hillary.
Hussain-TheCanadian
@Alistair Wiseman: No I haven’t seen or read you views on Donald Trump; it sucks when you write a lengthy response and then the system Queerty is using blocks the post.
I don’t think Mr Trump is anything; he’s a capitalist of the worst kind; I don’t think he’s a conservative or a liberal or anything in-between.
Alistair Wiseman
@Hussain-TheCanadian:
Hey, what a special day…we actually agree on something. 🙂
RIGay
…and will these people go quietly back under their rocks when Trump has his inevitable melt down and loses the election?
We… need to stop promoting his kind of hatred. It has no place in the conversation of democracy and society.
It is time to turn off the microphones, to turn off Twitter, to walk away from this… fringe.
dwes09
@Hussain-TheCanadian: ” I’m not a fan of the “Goddess of Death” Hillary Clinton”
Hillary will be at least as good of a president as Bill was (don’t any of you righties comment on his peccadilloes, they had no effect on what he got done or his policies). And his administration was one of notable prosperity and high world standing for the US. There are people who claim that she was calling the shots back then in the same way that Chaney was calling the shots during the Bush years (except the Clintons were more benign).
By comparison, as you point out, with Trump we get a president who seems unable to understand why he can’t simply nuke the countries that piss him off, and for whom diplomacy is for “losers” (Which he will be after the election, thankfully).
dwes09
@Alistair Wiseman: “I am a conservative, Trump is no conservative”
If by conservative you mean the Eisenhower model of the true fiscal conservative who was also socially permissive and understood that there was no such thing as a free market, or the Nixon model (let’s ignore his sociopathy for a moment) who understood that government regulation of the means of production and the health and well being of the workers and the environment were valid concerns, then there is no party that represents you. Even the Libertarians don’t, they go too far to adhere to the idea of empathy and charity as signs of weakness. And the current idea of Reagan as the mythic conservative is SO far removed from the reality of his actions. He pretty much presided over the start of the destruction of the middle class
A vote for Hillary will move this country back towards the middle, where it needs to be and away from the insane polarization. If she really was the monster the far right paints her as, she would not be the hoped for winner by the rest of the world. The rest of the free world (except for Russia) is horrified by the thought of a Trump Presidency). She will appoint centrist justices, and make sane foreign policy decisions.
IDoNotHaveToAgreeWithYou
Still isn’t as bad as the videos showing left wing extremists beating his supporters bloody. You really can’t complain about words with actual blood on your hands.
Alistair Wiseman
@dwes09:
You are delusional if you think that Hillary will bring us “back towards to the middle.” Hillary is no centrist with promising a trillion (with a t) in new taxes, just as one example. (Watch your wallet.)
Hillary is so far left she does not know the difference between a Democrat and Soci@list. Chris Matthews asked her in the clip below and she couldn’t answer the question.
The reason she couldn’t answer the question is because there is no longer a difference. Unfortunately.

Or when an anti-Trump person tried to assassinate Donald, or when an anti-Trump person shot a black Trump supporter in the leg, etc.
Ugly words are one thing, but anti-Trump “progressives” have taken it to a violent level.
felixforfunxx
I think the Trump haters tap into distorted views that many in the so-called straight population have about gays and gay sex. We are seen as overly promiscuous, disease spreaders, effeminate to a fault, and if you believe video porn, gay sex is painful, agonizing, awkward. In a long lifetime in communications and journalism, I have wondered why we don’t do a much better job of educating the public.
Brian
@felixforfunxx: It’s because gay-identifying men love the idea of being victims. They’re in love with victimhood.
Identifying as gay is a prideful way of saying “I enjoy being a victim”.
felixforfunxx
Brian: You make my point beautifully with such utter nonsense. Just another attempt to distort who we are. In this case, you go after our mental health, suggesting that we love to be victimized and that’s why we don’t really explain homosexuality to the public so that there would be a better perspective on gays and gay culture. That is so absurd it belongs down the rabbit hole with Alice.
dwes09
@Brian: It’s because gay-identifying men love the idea of being victims. They’re in love with victimhood.
So enlighten us, was that the subject of your doctoral thesis in psychology, or is it just one more of your delusions regarding a group you seem totally out of touch with? There really is a world that exists outside of your surprisingly bitter imagination.
Dave Downunder
Why does anyone bother to respond to Brian on these forums. He clearly has one agenda and that is to create conflict by posting opposing opinions and garner attention.
David Myers
@Bob LaBlah: @Brian: Troll Alert! Don’t feed the Trolls. It only makes them delusional and makes them think they are important.
Bob LaBlah
@dwes09: In your haste to respond you clicked on my comment by accident. No where in my prior comment did I say anything like the quote you added and attributed to me.
@David Myers: Now let me think for a second. What queen who vowed never to comment on Queerty again because they refused to ban me, Brian and Alistair would have made a comment that contains the word delusional? Hmmm. I wonder who it could be. Theres something about that word delusional that brings up memories of a silly ass queen jumping up and down at the 7-11 in SoCal this time of morning trying to get work with the other illegal migrants. Who could it be I wonder? Gian-smellypanties85 perhaps?
DCguy
Hey Allisair, (And your 4 other screenames).
Once again, your constant M.O. is to come in and defelect from the topic, make random statements about Democrats.
Please, for about the 100th, time, with details, list out why people SHOULD vote for the GOP. NOT some screaming fit about Hillary Clinton with vague insinuations, but what is it about Trump that makes you attack anybody and anything that doesn’t support him. What do YOU like about him, and why should anybody vote for him.
You’ve been asked before and refused to answer, which says a lot.
DCguy
@Alistair Wiseman: stated: You are delusional if you think that Hillary will bring us “back towards to the middle.” Hillary is no centrist with promising a trillion (with a t) in new taxes, just as one example. (Watch your wallet.)

So you attack Hillary because her taxes are a trillion? Well considering an Analysys of Trump’s Tax Plan says it would add 10 TRILLION (With a T) to the deficient, please explain how you supposedly fiscally responsible republicans support that. Oh, and unlike you, I provide links.

This morning I heard David Duke on NPR, and he was quite clear: in his eyes and those of many white supremacists, Donald Trump has mainstreamed their ideas. They love him and see him as the advance guard for white supremacy. This video shows it’s not just Duke and other extreme r@cist, hom0phobic, misogynistic nutcases who feel this way.

@Alistair Wiseman: Conservatives always cry about how Democrats and Liberals are going to tax us to death and run up the deficits. Then why do the deficits and taxes always go up under Republican Presidents and down under Democratic Presidents? Yeah we should have more conservative financial policies like they do in Oklahoma or Kansas or Wisconsin or Illinois- those Republican governors have done a great job running their states.
dinard38
Some dude in the video said, “I think he’s the last chance to establish Law and Order and to preserve the culture I grew up in.”
I got a chuckle out of that. So given that the guy is in his 70s, he would have grown up in the era of……oh, what do we call that era? Oh Yeah!!!!! The era of segregation and Jim Crow laws. So he wants Trump to take us back to that era? And what has Trump said or did to think that he would establish Law and Order?
I just totally don’t understand all of this support for Trump. The guy is clearly unhinged. He either has mental issues or he is doing an awesome job pretending to be cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. This guy calls Ted Cruz and Hillary a liar all day long, but he’s the biggest liar of all. This is the guy who claimed that he saw muslims twerking in the streets of New Jersey on 9/11…. From his penthouse. Then he changed the story to say that he watched it on the news when it was obvious that he could not have seen anyone in NJ from his penthouse. He continued this lie even after every media and government official stated that this incident never took place.
Look at what went down this week. He claimed that he never met Putin, but the media showed three different clips of him stating that they met, had tea and crumpets, gave each other friendship bracelets, and declared each other BFFs. Haha, ok, I’m being silly but you get my point. Even when faced with the videos of him stating that he met Putin, he still denies having met him. This guy just makes sh*t up off the top of his orange hair (Ted Cruz’s father was involved in JFK’s assassination, the Clintons were responsible for the death of Vince Foster, Obama was born in Kenya), and still people believe that he would make a great president. He doesn’t have any solid ideas for the country. He is extremely inarticulate. Seriously, for someone with access to top schools, he talks like a middle school student from Vicksburg, MS.
Ok, let me stop. I could go on and on about this LOSER. As I stated, I just don’t understand how this man who is clearly unfit to be president has so much support. A man that is so vindictive that he would take away healthcare from his very ill great nephew because the baby’s father, his nephew Fred Trump III had the audacity to sue him over his father’s will. Check it out.
