Joining Syracuse University in pretty amazing LGBT university policies, the University of Pennsylvania will offer up to $50,000 in gender reassignment coverage to students on its Penn Student Insurance Plan; the procedure costs an estimated $20,000. (Here’s a decent price breakdown.) Notably, the initiative to add coverage for trans student was helmed by a one Dennie Zastrow, a UPenn senior. So that’s pretty spectacular.
