Reader Alex put his artistic skills to work to fight California’s Proposition 8, the nasty ballot measure intended to overturn gay marriage in the Golden State.
We can't rely on mainstream media to tell our stories. That's why we don't lock Queerty articles behind a paywall. Will you support our mission with a contribution today?
anyone recall when Obma said human rights issues should not be voted on by referendum during the campaign the other night? I had hoped it would lead to a discussion about Prop 8. Have the candidates talked about gay issues at length during this campaign? I only remember the Logo debates back during the primaries.
As did I! You can check them out at http://www.defendequalitynow.com and download a free PDF of the poster or go to the store and get it on a yardsign or bumpersticker. All proceeds go to No on 8!
Here’s my Prop8 poster, which shows close up pics of the art piece. The piece has traveled around the state and been shown at the SEIU union conference on equality, the Deny the Lies concert in San Francisco, and the Working Together for Equality conference in San Francisco. It’ll next be shown on the courthouse steps for the closing arguments of the Prop8 trial.

These posters are terrific!
Last night I saw my first “No on 8” tv spot. It played during Ugly Betty. Is this what they mean when they talk about getting out your base?
An Other Greek
what is that, a blood diamond on a skeleton giving the peace sign?
