Utah’s Celebrated Homophobe Sen. Chris Buttars Is Quitting

Sad newz u guyz! Utah State Sen. Chris Buttars, whose racism and homophobia precedes him, isn’t going to seek re-election. The 69-year-old — who’se famous for saying things like “I don’t mind gays, but I don’t want ’em stuffing it down my throat all the time, and certainly [in] my kids’ face” — told colleagues of his plans at 1am Friday morning from the Senate floor, insisting he’s always stood for the truth but “there are other truths beyond the moral truths and one of them is human frailty.” Oh, there’s one other truth, like how Buttars takes credit for killing every gay rights bill he’s ever come across, because “homosexuality will always be a sexual perversion. And you say that around here now and everybody goes nuts. But I don’t care. [Gays are] mean. They want to talk about being nice. They’re the meanest buggers I have ever seen.” Man, even LDS can’t stand this guy.
