Together, these two refreshingly creative and personable guys give aspiring gay-porn stars tips on how to break into the biz. Number one tip: Accentuate your assets, boys! Also important is perseverance—if you don’t get a yes from a studio or filmmaker, submit again (bitch).

If you wanna be a porn star… you have some serious issues
Spike
If any/everyone that engages in a sexual activity on cam is considered a porn ‘STAR’, then just log onto cam4 and turn on your cam, their as hundreds of guys on cam there at any given time.
LittIe,Kiwi
oh look, guys who can’t laid and rely on porn as their sex-outlet every day are logging on to criticize porn stars.

pap
Hey look, the self important and obnoxious Little Kiwi gives his unintersting opinion. What a loser.
The Bony Man
Why shouldn’t people want to be a porn star? Is there any good, real reason besides social mores?
Derek
@The Bony Man:
Because some people aren’t sluts and view sex as a special act meant for two people who care about each other? (Yes, I realize I’m one of the few gays left with “old fashioned” values. Plus I’m only 23 years old, so that makes me an even rarer species! :P)
Mike
These guys are professional cum dumpsters, nothing they say is of any value or merit at all.
BlogShag
@LittIe,Kiwi: LOL! That’s what I was thinking. How much do you wanna bet they’re on here criticizing porn stars, while tapping away on their laptop trying to keep their oversized guts from squishing it, with chips on one side and a beer in the other, and some chocolate candies not too far
BlogShag
I can’t believe the people on here criticizing porn stars, when ALL of you probably own at least one porn DVD or a whole drawer full of them. Hypocrites. Who when they are young and hot doesn’t dabble with the thought of being in a porn film?
Some people are hypersexual, that doesn’t meant they deserve ridicule. Your ugly fat ass deserves just as much ridicule for being sedentary, unattractive, and gluttonous.
RJ
BlogShag=sock puppet of that idiot Kiwi.
Global Traveler
It is disingenuous to criticize porn actors when you indulge in porn yourself.
It’s a bit like driving your Hummer to protest an oil company.

NO FUCKING WAY……NOT A CRACK/METH HEAD……….NOT A HOOKER…..BOOZER….CRIMINAL………SHALL I GO ON?
Kate Bushwhacked
@Derek: That didn’t answer the question at all, all you did was paint yourself as a special snowflake and a slut shamer.
Bambinoitaliano
That’s when this country turn to shit. All the holier than thou judgemental pricks start using sex as a moral issue. Loosen up your sphincter folks. It will hurt less.

Err, I hate to interject a little reality, but “sluts” most likely exist as an adaptation (remember the theory of evolution?) that enhances the survival of our species. After some major disaster (epidemics, massive volcanic erruptions, or being wiped out by an enemy tribe), the people who tended to screw like rabbits are the reason we repopulated instead of dying out as a species. After each disaster, the remaining groups with the most “sluts” repopulated the fastest, which would help preserve this particular trait.
pap
Sluts as a part of evolution? Really? Do you even realize how ridiculous that sounds? smh
Nick
I thought porn stars were supposed to be attractive.
Remy
@ B: Uh, no. “Sluttiness” isn’t a genetic trait. Biologically humans tend to reproduce with one partner for long periods of time, just like many other mammals that engage in long-term parenting.
@Derek: I’m 27 and feel similar ^_^
I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with doing porn. I personally would never do it because I need an emotional investment in someone to even ENJOY sex, so having random sex with a stranger just would not be pleasurable for me. That being said, just because I enjoy jerking off to porn for 20-30 minutes a few times a week doesn’t mean that I need to glorify those in it, nor does it mean I owe them any modicum of respect; if that were true, there would be monuments everywhere built to real heroes like nurses, firefighters, policemen, and doctors, but surprisingly, there aren’t. And just because someone uses porn to get off doesn’t mean they automatically have to condone the life choices of those in it; I enjoy Dexter thoroughly but I don’t support serial killers but I still find the show enjoyable.
What becomes annoying about porn “stars” is how desperate they are to have attention on them. They think because they’re nude on camera ejaculating on someone that they’re suddenly famous and important and that all of their ideas matter, and pathetic gay men that can’t get laid or are self-loathing feed into this and give them all of the attention they want, creating a perpetuating cycle that makes them feel more important than they actually are. It would be fine if they just filmed a scene and then disappeared until their next one, but now with social media they’re somehow superstars for doing something that nearly every human in history has done themselves anyway. They aren’t anything special, and if they didn’t get undue hero worship they’d be far more tolerable.
I point to the death of Erik Rhodes as an example. I really enjoyed his scenes, but as a person he seemed like quite the asshole through his blog. Mental issues aside, he was rude about clients he found unattractive (aka his fans and how he makes his money), did many illegal drugs, and didn’t care about his health, himself or anyone else. Yet when he died suddenly he was some hero; numerous people like him die every day but because they don’t have a steroid infused body, gay men don’t give a damn. THIS is why many gay men (I’d say a large majority of gay men in the real world) do not care about porn stars and find the hero worship of them profoundly annoying.
BWash
Meh. I don’t see what’s wrong with wanting to become a porn star. Do I? No. I have no ambition for that sort of thing on a personal level. Do I indulge? Please. I don’t know a gay man who doesn’t. But seriously, can we quit the slut shaming for like two seconds. Okay, you need sex to mean something more than just getting off and moving onto the next. That’s great. I’m right there with you. However, not everyone views sex the same way…. And that’s OKAY. You don’t have to agree with it on a personal level, but don’t cast stones out just because someone has a different sex life than your own. That’s the same kind of bullshit attitude bigots use against us in the LGBT community and domineering patriarchs use to shame sexually active women. My point, plainly put then, get over yourself.
(Also, on a related note, people need to stop with the idea that people who don’t have frequent sex with anonymous partners are “fat” or “ugly”. Everyone has different ideas and standards with regards to how they engage in sex. Yet again, that’s OKAY. Jesus. Why is it so hard to live and let live?).
Basch
@BlogShag: I know, right? They’re criticizing porn stars, but I’m pretty sure 99% of people who use this site masturbate. What do they masturbate to? It must get old closing your eyes and thinking of that one special hookup. Yeah right, it’s porn.

I’m not hot enough to be a porn star. No unrealistic aspirations for porn glory for me. But if you’ve those assets, and you’ve got the desire to be in the business, there is no shame. It’s an industry like any other, and it can be lucrative, too! The thing I don’t agree with is if younger men are forced into the industry – I don’t know how much this happens, but they seem to hint at it in the video. Porn should be something that’s fun and sexy and has no shame involved.
Also, that dude rocks the pornstache, hardcore.
DJ
Global Traveler and Basch-Actually I find porn to be very boring.
Ex porn guy
Nickname actually no you do not make a lot of money doing porn. That’s a myth. Most men and women who perform in porn make more money being prostitutes on the side than you do from being in porn videos.
I did a few videos and got out. I never expected to make tons of money doing porn and I certainly never thought of porn as a life long career or something I’d be doing for decades. People like the guy in the video who do think of porn as this way are naive and sadly mistaken.

@Remy:
Bahahahaha. Do a little research before you make claims about how monogamous humans and other mammals are “biologically.” Marriage and monogamy are social constructs invented by humans. What humans “tend” to do has nothing to do with what nature wants us to do.
Very few species mate with one partner for life. And the few that actually raise young together, oftentimes have offspring with different fathers (though the father probably doesn’t know it).
Multiple sex partners ensures reproductive success. End of story. Survival of the fittest means those with the most surviving offspring that reach reproductive age. It has nothing to do with physical fitness (which many get confused about). So yes, “sluttiness” is an evolutionary advantage that helps to ensure your genes pass on to future generations.
All that of course doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with wanting to be committed to one person for life. But just because someone doesn’t fit into that societal “norm” doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with him.
Chuck
Colby Keller is fricken hot. Don’t hate on him.
But yeah, the main plus side of being a pr0n star would be copious amounts of sex with hot guys. The negative side is, it’s probably hard to have long-term relationships because your partners would be paranoid that you’re sleeping with someone else (which you are because you’re a porn star), or you’d be paranoid that they’re only with your for your body.
Also STDs.
Not for me, but I would still love to have a go at some of these guys. How does one balance their sex drive with a meaningful relationship?
Chuck
Also, once you do porn, you pretty much can’t do anything else, because your face is out there.

I’ll point both of you to http://www.livescience.com/19110-female-chromosome-male-sex.html for a description of some research showing that specific genetic factors influence sexual behavior. Also http://www.nature.com/news/2006/060529/full/news060529-6.html describes how sexual desire may be related to genetics. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-387798/Being-sex-addict-genes.html has a description of this research written for a more general audience.
It appears that sex drive is affected by genetics (no real surprise) and there are evolutionary advantages in having some number of “sluts” in a population group as it makes repopulating after some catastrophe occur faster.
pap
These guys are procreating. they are just getting their rocks off. they are sluts because they are sluts, not because of some genetic factor. i guess you can try to excuse bad behavior.
No money in porn?
I hear a lot there’s just no money in porn. But there is obviously a lot of money in it, look at the Internet! It’s just like anything else, if you start out as an actor or producer you must do the hard work, learn the hard lessons, and apply yourself for the long term and then you have a chance at success. It’s more career oriented in this business rather than being discovered or becoming a one hit wonder and raking in the dough overnight and then retiring. Most actors or producers make money from volume. So if you do like to fuck and you are a slut, then you can make money. I also agree with the advice to enhance your assets, but add that these days your assets might not be a ten inch cock and perfect hard body, and that’s ok. I have a very tiny cock and a curvy soft feminine body and I work whenever I choose for two studios and also submit my own productions all over the place. It’s just about the volume of your output. You must also try and find a genre that you enjoy that is also very popular with users. I am a bottom and I found that working with black tops is always a good place to find work, there aren’t that many white bottoms willing to take hat BBC pounding all the time, believe it or not! I can enjoy that all day long all the time so i found my niche. But bottom line you have to fuck a lot to succeed.
