I cried. Yes they sing beautifully but I cried because I never thought I would live to see a gay couple welcomed on a National television show or acknowledged by stars both male and female. Being a young gay man in the 70’s when we had no role models and worried every day if we were going to be beat or killed, I cried at how far we have come and how much more acceptance there is today. Thank you to all the stars on this show and thank you to these two young men able to show their love. I cried.

They may be the first gay couple (I think there might have been one before) but they are hardly the first out gay contestants on this show that have been fought over by the judges. Of course, Adam is an enthusiastic supporter of his out younger brother Michael.
