Saturday Night Live thrives in times of political unrest, and President Trump has endowed the sketch show with even more power by showing the world how much it gets to him to be portrayed in a less-than-flattering light by Alec Baldwin.
Trump has gone so far as to call Baldwin a “disaster” and SNL a “failing show.”
.@NBCNews is bad but Saturday Night Live is the worst of NBC. Not funny, cast is terrible, always a complete hit job. Really bad television!

Which makes us all the more excited to see what kind of punches this weekend’s show will pull, with Baldwin hosting the show for his 17th time (he’s hosted more than anyone else, if you’re counting).
Rumors have been flying about potential content — everything from Baldwin hosting the entire show as Trump, to Melissa McCarthy coming back to lampoon Press Secretary Sean Spicer, to Rosie O’Donnell offering to take over the roll of Steve Bannon. Please let that last one come true!
In a recently released promo, Baldwin promises that the show is going to be a “big deal.”
We’re inclined to agree.
Watch below:
And just for kicks, here’s Melissa’s instant-classic sketch from last week’s episode:

I don’t think you (or maybe it’s me) don’t understand the meaning of pulling punches

It’s Queerty, dear, not you. I’d let them know just how I feel about their poor understanding of English colloquialisms, especially considering what they do for a living, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to pull any punches and my karma would be like, lousy.

Ugh…the idiots who write for this site.

It’s good when a show can bring comedy to tragedy and do a public service at the same time. SNL is keeping people aware — curious, even — about what’s going on, when they see the skits go over so huge, but don’t know what it’s about. McCarthy and Baldwin are astonishing. They really need to cast some bony guy as both Conway and Colter.

Steve……I can’t wait to see Rosie lampooning Bannon. I swear, this administrations is giving Saturday Night Live enough material to last forever….and it has just started. 4 years of it should be incredible. You are right. When they spoof an issue, maybe people will become aware of the real issue.

Remember when Alec Baldwin reportedly went on a homophobic rant not too long ago?
My, my…what short memories anti-Trump queens have. Seems like they will give a pass to somebody out of complete self-interest. Sad and despicable queens….

Aww…Don’t be so hard on yourself, Brian. I’m sure somebody, somewhere likes you.

@DMRX I thought it was strange we hadn’t heard from Brian in a while and had my suspicions that this was him. Glad somebody else picked up on it too.

Like none of us have ever gone on a h0m0ph0bic rampage. I mean, how about every week, we call each other slurs.

I can remember back in the very early 60s when Vaughn Meader spoofed the Kennedys with his ‘The First Family’ LP album (or vinyl, as so many young people call them today….GRIN!) And yes. I still have that LP….among a hundred or so more on the shelf. But the spoof of the Kennedys was not like the material for the lampooning today of Trump and his colleagues. What can I say? The lampooning today is a total riot and unbelievably outrageous. I love it. And we are going to have 4 years of it. YeeeeHaw!!!!
Herman75
Ah! The 60’s station on satellite radio was playing a bit of that Kennedy spoof this past week. Fun stuff.

This is going to be the greatest show in history. Tremendous. Better than the Rockettes, belive me.
