Let it be known: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has now officially endorsed Bernie Sanders and Sasha Velour.
The NY Democrat is a known fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race, so it’s not entirely surprising that she stepped out to see season 9 winner Sasha Velour’s one-queen show, Smoke & Mirrors, in Washinton, D.C this week.
What was slightly surprising, though, was AOC channeling Lady Gaga in her review, delivered post-show when she visited Velour backstage.

“It was amazing. It was incredible. It was fabulous. I’m like that Lady Gaga moment where she’s like, ‘stunning, amazing, impeccable, genius,’” exclaims AOC.

Ocasio-Cortez was referencing this clip, though she left out the ‘vomit on it’ part — good call:
Velour calls her show an “an effortless blend of drag, visual art, and magic… sparking fresh analysis of gender, fame, family, and the importance of dreaming big and living life over-the-top.”

AOC seems spectacularly popular, and consistently polls much higher than people in her own party OR the GOP.
Look, I’m old too. I wish my hatred of whipper-snappers was the same thing as whipper-snappers actually being bad or disliked by all. But young people and people of tomorrow love her and her ways. Both she and her politics will outlive you and me and our politics. But go ahead and hate away.

Have you actually heard AOC’s policies, or just the Fox News version of them? She’s progressive but hardly socialist or communist. She’s never suggested putting the means of production in government hands
