Teen filmmaker Shea Glover set out to make a short film documenting all the things that she found beautiful. So she went around her performing arts high school in Chicago and began filming her fellow classmates and teachers.
She didn’t tell her subjects what she was doing until they were already in front of the camera. When she did, the responses she got, she says, were not what she had expected.
“My intentions were not to get a reaction out of people,” Glover says. “I was simply filming beauty and this is the result. Here it is.”

Dumb.

I found this to be truly sweet.. Some people just need to hear that.. love it when people don’t recognize their own beauty.. I can find something beautiful about any person.. smile, eyes, nose, laugh…

Looks like people like being lied to.

These reactions seem pretty normal. It’s kinda creepy for someone to come up to you and tell you you’re beautiful and then they just stand there waiting for you to react. It’s a lot like guys in bars that just stare at you off and on until you leave. Very awkward and creepy.
@sportsguy1983: LOL

…sigh…
First, I’m disappointed in the negative comments but they where inevitable. Second, I thought this was truely sweet. I too also found these people beautiful. I hope she has a long and fruitfull career in film making :).

@JerseyMike: None of it was genuine though. Looking for their reactions only.

That was nice.

@Stache: how do you know that? Not everyone thinks only model types are beautiful.. maybe looking for a reaction but you don’t know what was in the heart of the producer..

Well it certainly is in the eye of the beholder isn’t it?

Well, with the birth of Art comes the inevitable vomitus after-birth of the critic to spew their barf of skepticism and condemnation because their own heart is dead. This video brought tears to my eyes because, REGARDLESS of the intent of the videographer, the responses were genuine, and it is heartbreaking to know that so many young people don’t realize what beautiful human beings they really are because they have been taught by Media that they should look a certain way. To see them all suddenly open like flowers when hey are told they are beautiful is the most beautiful site in the world.

I hate that QUEERTY doesn’t allow us to edit our own posts, even for spelling correction. There should be a law. LOL.

Well overly “sweet” videos that are trying way too hard for the sole purpose of clickbait or getting your name out there are basically the new kitten porn so… It’s not really surprising that people are starting to get annoyed by it. It reads phony. At least kittens don’t have to pretend to be sappy to get people to “aww” at them.
This is the country where we’ve become accustomed to daily shootings. No one is this sappy anymore and I don’t like false feelings personally. If it was something cute caught on camera realistically I’d “aww” with everyone else but phony set up stuff is just weird.
Any isn’t the video calling everyone ugly in the first place? The video itself starts off from an ugly place.
More kittens pls.

I agree, this is sweet. Also, a reminder that a nice smile goes a long way.

@JerseyMike:
Yep, I agree.
Even those who often hear it like hearing it.

That was sweet! Albeit slight, I wish there was more kindness like that in the world.

I find this really sweet. I was pretty hideous in High School, skinny awkward and one day this girl said I had a pretty smile. I remember it like it was yesterday, where I was etc. Sometimes the smallest gestures can last a lifetime.

@sportsguy1983:
you know what. folks need to stop being fucking shallow and realize that beauty is subject. believe it or not although some of you think to yourselves that you and/or the guys you drool over are hot, someone else might think you’re ugly.
some of you guys need to live outside the gay community for once. it’s warping your sense of reality.

This was so interesting – reactions were mostly great, and I think genuine. The biggest thing, is that I noticed – at exactly the moment most of them realized, and smiled, that I also thought they were beautiful. And seconds earlier, I kinda didn’t. Wow.
Did anyone notice the VERY beautiful girl with long auburn hair around the 3:16 mark and her reaction? That really got to me. Something so painful about that. I just want to give her a hug, hold her and keep telling her she is beautiful until she believes it. Cool Video.

I think this is an interesting premise but it’s a little flawed—being told you’re beautiful by someone who is not in a relationship with you is one thing, being told you’re beautiful by a sig-o is something else.
A better name would be “Awkward Reactions To Being Told You’re Attractive.”
