Rocketman is officially in theaters as of today, and to celebrate, Taron Egerton stopped by Buzzfeed to engage in a rite of passage for sexually secure stars: the reading of the thirst tweets.
Egerton, who plays famed gay musician Elton John in the new biopic, is predictably adorable as he reads raunchy tweet after raunchy tweet.

But something even more fun happens towards the end of the vid — he learns a certain word that will likely not be new information to many readers.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Watch at around the 2:38 mark to see Taron’s horizons expand:

Watch him when he first hears slang about gay sex? How, do you have video of him 10 years ago on his first date with a guy? 😉

I saw the movie today and thought it was horrid! It was like a 2 hour episode of “Glee” that focused on some of the ugliest episodes in Elton John’s life, with the songs done as musical theater. Taron Egerton was great playing Elton John, but there was nothing uplifting or positive about the part of his life portrayed, except that he achieved a lot of success but also did a lot of drugs and drinking to escape his loneliness and horrible parents. I really wanted to leave early on in the film and several times later, but toughed it out and stayed ’til the end. I give it an enthusiastic “Thumbs Down” and am very disappointed.

Jimmy T, thank the lord! I thought I was going to be the only one! “Horrid” is actually a rather restrained word for what happens after the first half hour, which I rather enjoyed, Glee like or not in parts. But the minute the abuse years kick in I just didn’t want to spend any more time in the company of this ghastly human being. Taron, with a lot of help from the make up, hair and wardrobe departments, did a splendid job, and as he is so charismatic in real life, playing a man who became so loathsome courtesy of drugs and drink, must be counted a triumph. In fact on a French chat show Taron did on his way to the premiere in Cannes the host’s first question was “Many said you are too beautiful to play Elton, how do you react to that?” I totally agree, but when you learn that Elton thought Justin Timberlake the perfect man to play him, it’s really a matter of the ego has landed. (Tall, thin, and really sexy Timberlake? You are kidding Elton, right?) I also found the format of the movie disturbing with Elton in rehab reliving parts of his life, and finding excuses for his terrible behaviour, Mummy didn’t have enough time for me, daddy didn’t love me, everybody I love leaves me etc. In fact after the first 30 minutes I found the film more and more depressing, and putting up images of the real man against those of Taron over the credits does Elton no favours at all! Yes Jimmy, like you terribly disappointed.
