Blake McIver, a familiar face in the ’90s due to his work in TV shows like Full House and films like The Little Rascals, is again appearing before the cameras following a much-publicized detour as a go-go dancer in West Hollywood gay bars. The 28-year-old has filmed a gay-themed music video for a self-penned song titled “Wish I Didn’t Need You,” which finds the entertainer haunted by the end of a love affair.

Why pick on him? He didn’t write the headline or refer to himself as a regular – that was just hype written to get people to read the article. Yes he only did 9 episodes of “Full House” but, for his age at the time, he had a fairly respectable career from 1993 thru 2004 – better than 30 performances on 20 different shows (or movies). I have friends in the business that would kill for that kind of a resume.

I really don’t like this song it’s very, child star/ trying to impress the judges vocals sorta like the way he proformed when he was a child, he always annoyed me. He does not have a very good pop music voice, but I think he de a lot better on broadway or porn. He definitely looks like falcon studios exclusive power bottom in there new movie west hollywood story. The acting was abysmal it was like when they ask athleats or porn starts to act. He should get rid of the Kim Kardashion’s P.R people get a new P.R team And move to NYC and should try and get him on broadway…hello Adele Dazeem….they should also get him into the actors studio it worked for Marilyn Monroe it could for him. Yeah, sorry… whomever he is (I watched that show religiously and I don’t recall him), he’s pretty, worked out body, great gaze, but his voice is not suited to this music — and the person that decided those drums were ok should be flogged in an unkind way. I wish it was good!

His gay face prettiness and lackluster thin androgynous voice left me cold. He needs to cancel that hairstyle and amp up his masculine side, possibly ingest some testosterone. He may trade on his James Dean hairstyle but he is not James Dean. Copycats are boring. I’m sure some people may like it but he lost met in translation. No this is not Simon Cowell.

Sorry, but anyone who watched the show “religiously” would remember Dereck. He was that irritating kid who, whenever he popped up in an episode, made u cringe. As for this song, it’s really good. It has good structure, a nice melody and the lyrics are fine. His voice may not be some of your ideal masculine voice, but its pleasant. The video is average, definitely not bad. Blake fits in fine with most gay child stars turned singers. Our community is very picky, so he probably won’t go far. But I hope he does.
