Have you ever met a guy who claimed to be ‘versatile’ but actually prefers to bottom 98% of the time?
The subject of sexual preferences, specifically men who claim they like to top, features in the latest video from YouTube comic Michael Henry.

Henry is hanging out with two friends who are both tops. Henry says he’s a top too and joins in with the guys (AJ Cast and Tim Murray) when they spot some beefy booty they’d love to pound. However, the more the friends wax lyrical about the wonders of topping, the more Henry’s own true passions become apparent.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
In short, Henry’s a “phony top” who secretly just wants to bottom.
And why are the three friends seeing so much hot booty on the streets? It’s “GBM Rush Week”: The Gay Bottom Mafia (GBM) is another recurring theme in Henry’s videos, and it’s seeking new recruits!

Insecurity mixed with toxic masculinity….
Dymension
Whatever dude. I think you may have some insecurities if you see “toxic masculinity” in this. It’s fun!

I do think something like this can have as much weirdness or contractions or fluidity as anything else. I used to have zero interests in bottoming, and the few times I tried it I detested it. Now, I’m definitely more “verse”.
The lying, like so much other shit, can be driven by things like ego, toxic masculinity and/or male insecurities. You also might lie just to appeal to someone you like. I do think we’re starting to see the fallout from our “culture” being so identity dependent and placing so much importance on sexuality and sexual behaviors. Many younger people are rejecting the “top”, “bottom”, “verse” labels. On the the other hand, more people are admitting that they’re not that into anal sex at all and they fancy sex for a number of other reasons.

Having grown up in the Mid-west during the ’50’s and 60’s I’m pretty sure it’s a holdover from the concept of ‘Trade’. Letting a queer service you don’t make you a queer (as long as you don’t try kissing him right after….). And stop me if you heard this one before: What’s the difference between a Queer and a Microwave Oven?

Versatile = Pig Bottom.

There are definitely some sociological and ego benefits to presenting yourself as top/verse-top. There are definitely benefits to presenting yourself as “masculine” or bro-like. However, even a lot of “bottoms” bottom shame. Even a lot of effeminate men shame other effeminate men. Guys who homosexual or are overall homo-leaning when it comes to the romantic, sexual, emotional investment, commitment spectrum are shamed for not being that into anal sex.
It just seems like many “queers” are always finding ways to filter themselves through the lense of hetero-normalcy, internalized homophobia, gender norms or masculinity/femininity. We’ve placed so much emphasis and importance on “labels” and sexual behaviors. And a lot of folks who are very insecure stay obsessed with finding ways to feel superior to others or belittle others. It almost makes you want to undo the whole system.

To have sex. People lie to have sex, they’ll tell you what you want to hear if it means they get to have sex. My experience over the many years has been; Bottoms=obviously only bottom. Versatile bottoms-bottom only, never top. Versatile-bottom only, never top. Versatile top-bottom only, never top. Top-bottom 99% of the time. They figure once they’re in the door and you’re both in the mood………..!

Many guys will indeed say whatever just to hook up with you or so you will date them. It’s the same thing as guys claiming to be “straight” and not having much experience with guys in order to appeal to certain types of dudes, or claiming to be inherently homo when they’re not, or presenting themselves as more “butch” or “fem” then behaving another type of way behind closed doors, or claiming their dick is bigger than what it is. Guys will indeed lie to get what they want/who they want, to fit in with certain people, to reap whatever type of sociological benefits and/or to boost their egos. However, I want to make clear that the type of sexual positions you prefer can change over time. So, a dude may not be lying if he claims to be a “bottom” and a couple of years later claims to be “verse”.
It all goes back to how much for guys sex is attached to ego and the personas we present. It also speaks on how much emphasis we put on sexual behaviors and on “labels” and how that frequently backfires.

This video supposed to be funny??????

I guess. Somewhere under that preachy message, there’s supposed to be something faintly amusing.
I keep telling myself to stop torturing myself with these. There’s nothing even faintly amusing here, but people keep sending them to me and I keep seeing them posted. And I keep disliking this guy more and more. He’s boorish, preachy, and flat-out mean to anybody who disagrees with him, in addition to just not being funny.

Apparently. I’ve enjoyed many of his videos in the past. But this one is pretty lame.

I am a REAL vers and it has given me tons of good sex but it is somewhat annoying when someone lies about what they want in bed. I never ask but so many people do. I like to just see where things go and when someone tells you it is a bit limiting. But hey they must have their reasons and I am not there to fix or change anyone. I do think there is a strong misogyny in some guys not wanting to appear fem. Great sex can be had by being open to all things that turn on your partner so tyr to not limit yourself
Doug
This is just more of the same old stereotypical top-shaming b.s. Some guys just don’t enjoy bottoming, much to the outrage of Michael Henry.
Liquid Silver
I get the feeling Michael Henry is locked on “outrage.”
ShowMeGuy
Because society still believes that being a female is *less than* and everyone knows that “top equals MALE and bottom equals FEMALE”.

Obesity is not sexy, obesity is a sickness.

There have been more sightings of Sasquatch than total tops.

Boring. The guy on the right is not a top.
