WATCH: GOP candidate, former ‘Apprentice’ contestant caught telling woman “You should f*ck me”

Like host, like contestant.

A Republican candidate for the New Jersey General Assembly and former contestant on Donald Trump‘s reality show The Apprentice has lost his party’s support after a video of him drunkenly hitting on a woman surfaced online, reports Politico.

Brian McDowell’s apparent political downfall is awfully ironic — all it took to get dropped by the Cape May County Republicans was an out-of-context clip in which he tells an unidentified woman “You should f*ck me.”

More specifically, he says, “Let me tell you right now. You should f*ck me. It would really be good. Listen, you never know.”

Aggressive? Yes. Crude? Yup. But still, Trump was caught saying he could grab women “by the pussy” — an actual brag of sexual assault — and he went on to with the highest office in the land.

Speaking to Politico, McDowell later defended his behavior and even managed to squeeze in a comparison to Jesus:

“There are human errors and even Jesus dropped the cross three times,” he said. “I’m not running to be the pope. I’m running to make New Jersey more affordable.”

“Yes, I had a couple of drinks but it also shows the confidence that I have in a room,” he added. “And I believe in life most people enjoy confidence.”

What a class act.

McDowell, who also volunteered as the Cape May County coordinator for the campaign to elect Trump, has previously claimed he possesses “potentially damaging” audio that he acquired while competing on The Apprentice.

He vowed not to release it to help his former reality TV boss make it to the White House.
