WATCH: Jaden Smith introduces his famous boyfriend, crowd goes wild

Jaden Smith wears a skirt -- just a skirt

Jaden Smith screamed it from the proverbial rooftops: He has a boyfriend, and that boyfriend’s name is Tyler the Creator.

But before we call our favorite non-bigoted bakery to get started on Smith’s rainbow coming out cake, let’s pause and take a step back.

The 20-year-old performer and son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith made the comments during a recent show, and judging by his delivery and Tyler’s reaction, the gesture seemed more symbolic than literal.

“I just want to say Tyler the Creator is the best friend in the whole world and I love him so f*cking much,” Smith said. “And I want to tell you guys something… Tyler doesn’t want to say, but Tyler is my motherf*cking boyfriend, and he’s been my motherf*cking boyfriend my whole f*cking life. Tyler the Creator is my f*cking boyfriend! It’s true!”

Watch for yourself:

Smith followed up with a tweet that led many commenters to think he’d really come out:

Fans have speculated about Tyler’s sexuality ever since the rapper seemed to hint that he wasn’t straight in his lyrics.

Tyler has spoken about maintaining some sense of mystery around the subject, telling Fantastic Man:

“It’s still such a grey area with people, which is cool with me. Even though I’m considered loud and out there, I’m private, which is a weird dichotomy. The juxtaposition of loud and quiet is weird.

It’s a literal question and the thing about humans is we hate not having an answer. We hate not being in the know. So people will bullsh*t answers, make shit up, instead of being just, like.

I don’t know. There are some things that are just unexplainable.”

So did Smith come out? Our spidey sense says no, but maybe “some things are just unexplainable.”
