Jeffree Star has moved into a new home… and it’s insane.
Star, 34, has brought a property rumored to have cost $14.6million in California’s Hidden Hills.
Not that that figure should be a stretch for the gay vlogger. Despite reminding us at the start of his latest YouTube video he had just $500 to his name six years ago, it was recently revealed that he was in the top five of YouTube earners of 2019, netting an estimated $17million.
That figure was slightly down on 2018’s $18million, but suffice to say, he’s unlikely to be hunting for loose change down the back of the sofa any time soon.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

Star, 34, began his career as a musician on MySpace, but launched his own cosmetics brand in 2014 and hasn’t looked back since. His Jeffree Star cosmetics line is now one of the most successful brands in the US.
He and boyfriend Nathan Schwandt moved into the property a few weeks ago. It’s still pretty empty but they’re in the process of having it redecorated and all their possessions moved in.
Star made a 36-minute video while showing around friends and fellow vloggers Shane Dawson and Ryland, who are dumbstruck when they pull up in their car, commenting it’s like arriving at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas.
The mansion has ten bedrooms (which we’re sure probably all have ensuite bathrooms), a 16-car garage, a huge home gym, a luxurious movie theater, and a glass elevator between floors.
Skip to the video’s 11-minute mark to check out the biggest kitchen you’ll find outside of a Michelin-star restaurant. Star’s bedroom is like its a mini-apartment in itself.
Star says he’s moving some members of his own family in with him, including his mother, because, “not to be really dark – I don’t know much longer she has left, and I want to spend every moment I can with her.”

The property, on a gated community, will also be protected by live-in security.
Star says that more than money, he’s now at a place in his life where he’s truly happy – which is a bigger measure of success than how many bedrooms his new crib offers.
And the thought he wants his followers to take away from the video? “No dream is ever too big.”

This irritates me. Sorry. Teachers and nurses are so underpaid, and people like the Kardashians and JS make this kind of money. Bitter? Yeah.
Chrisk
It seems so alien to me. I’m not in the cosmetics, youtube/reality tv world so no none of this makes any sense. I find them all vacuous and boring. Plus their fan base are the same types I’ll actively avoid in life.
cliche guevara
I get where you are coming from but trying to connect one group of people being underpaid to another group being overpaid is misguided. As a country the U.S. has enough to pay teachers, nurses, first responders … much better than we do and still allow people like this to make ridiculous amounts of money. It is an either/or situation we simply choose to not pay people what we should. The outrage should be there irrespective of the Jeffree Stars of the world.
Brian
I don’t begrudge him any of it. He’s not getting paid by taxpayers so why should any of us care? He brings in the eyeballs that advertisers are willing to pay big money for. I don’t understand for a second why those eyeballs want to watch him, but they do, and he’s figured out how to give them what they want. A genuine American success story
Catholicslutbox
A lot his/her fans are teenage girls, and as they grow up, they loose interest in these vapid queens. -explains the decline in popularity.
He/she still makes a lot of money. I wonder how big of a cut his/her (straight) “bf” gets.
Polaro
Still makes me cringe. No, just no.
armandov
I know, right? Some of these Youtubers are getting millions for telling stories on a weekly basis about getting their holes wrecked and sharing beauty tips. Ridiculous.
Chrisk
Obviously he’s doing something right selling beauty to teen girls and some fem gay boys but he’s not anywhere near any of the top most successful cosmetic lines in America. Good job vetting this story Queerty. Lol
Jimmyk321
Yes, he does actually.

Good to see that Cruella DeVil is making life work after all those puppies ruined her plans.

hehehehe

Hard to imagine listening to this obnoxious queen for more than 30 seconds.

I was surprised to find strong family values in this article and this home. These are the real family values Americans treasure, not the kinds that would disown LGBT members.

This reminds me too much of the old MTV Cribs show where celebrities would rent out a huge house, stage things and do a tour like they owned it. Background music and camera angles are exactly the same way too
Brian
That show was a huge success, so why not follow the formula? He’s making money off of this video too.
g-sing
are they transitioning?

What I also find interesting is his “straight” boyfriend. This guy must have had some deep psychological trauma in childhood. Yes, I am in a relationship with a guy that tries to look like a woman – therefore – I can pretend I’m not really dating a guy but a woman. Therefore, I am really straight. Okay??
Donston
Jeffree doesn’t even identify as female/trans or even “genderfluid”. But ultimately, I just don’t care anymore about what people want to call themselves. If his boyfriend sees himself as “straight” that’s none of my business. Unless you’re entirely conventionally hetero or homo, identity is mostly about sociology, politics, ego and perhaps where you fit within the romantic, sexual, affection, emotional investment spectrum. Jeffree is just a numb-nut. Too old to be such an airhead and too old for people to continue forgiving him for saying racist, misogynistic, hetero worshipping shit. But the people he appeals to tend to be within the airhead demo.

Although he has been very generous with charitable giving, it would have been nice to see him touring a $10M facility for homeless LGBTQ youth in LA that he donated instead of this outrageous home.
Brian
He’s been very generous, but you’re still criticizing him for enjoying what he’s earned? Lovely.

It’ll be run down quicker than you can say hill billy holiday.

Wow! Such a beautiful home! Kudos to Jeffree for living his dream!

Lets see now, a $14.5 million dollar home in California should have an annual tax bill of right around $1.1 million dollars or some where close. On a home that size the gas bill should run around $2k per month (I know its California but it DOES get chilly out there and no queen will tolerate an unheated mansion). And then theres the electric bill for air conditioning, pool and such which should be around $3000 per month. A staff of six or seven will be needed to maintain the place so thats an extra $15k per month. And then there’s the insurance for the house alone which should run……..hey, you know what, you go girl. You make the money and it will continue raining down from heave so what the hell. Lets those jealous, picky queens say all they want because they will never know nor need to know what your monthly expenses HAVE to be to maintain a place like that and the first class lifestyle you live. And by the way, I think this move does prove you are telling the truth when you said you only had $500 to your name. Just keep that in mind no matter what you chose to buy next (my guess a 747).

Stop making stupid people famous.
Jimmyk321
It’s not like he does nothing. He’s made a successful make up brand that everyone loves but keep staying pressed in whoevers basement you’re in this week.
