Not sure how I missed this, but: Joe McElderry, the newly out X Factor winner, released the video for his first single “Ambitions,” released Sunday. It’s a poppier cover of the Norwegian band Donkeyboy’s track — and surprises even Joe, who thought his first single would be a ballad. But then, you know, the labels get involved ….
He is really talented. I hope they bring his music to the US.
He’s got a little bit of the “head doesn’t match the body” thing that Britney Spears had in her “Piece of Me” video going on here.
Honestly, I’m surprised by how much I’ve been loving this song. It sounds so happy but it’s kind of depressing.
That song was kinda booooring. For a slower ballad I like out performer Michael Chase DiMartino’s ‘What If?’
I’ve listened to ALL of Joe’s songs on X-Factor, some of them several times. This video is NOT as good as any of those songs from the show. As has been said, the music label got involved and created what they wanted.
I also don’t like how high pitched his voice sounds in this video. It sounds nothing like the voice I’m used to.
Simon Cowell basically stopped promoting Joe when he came out as gay. Check out Joe’s amazing voice on the acoustic version of Ambitions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0n4tdDNBSbE
Enjoyed listening to the song. I hope this guy goes along way… I like his other songs. Although he is singing in falsetto in this number, he does it amazingly well. Falsetto can be annoying most times but he nailed it. Looking forward to his music in the USA.
You go girl! 🙂
