Stand-up comedian John Mulaney is more accustomed to performing as himself than in-character, but his third hosting gig at SNL over the weekend had him stepping into the role of a lifetime: Sailor Twink.
The sketch is set up as a clip from a ’50s film titled Say, Those Two Don’t Seem to Like Each Other, pitting Kate McKinnon against Aidy Bryant as they vie for the romantic favor of Beck Bennett.

But the seasoned seductresses are no match for John Mulaney’s “Julian,” the ladies’ younger brother who quickly becomes the object of Bennett’s affection.
“When did our pesky little brother get ‘gay hot’?!” wonders Bryant.
