On Friday, Lady Gaga will make her acting debut in the grind house flick, Machete Kills. In addition to getting to see Gaga make an onscreen sequel to her video “Telephone” fans also get a full listen to the new track, “Aura.” In what seems to be an exhausting trend of debuting full songs on YouTube is a lyric video that also showcases Gaga as one of the assassins hired to kill Machete (more here). Gotta love integrated marketing!

I typically like Lady Gaga, but this song is disgusting. It sexualizes and objectifies muslim women that have either made a personal choice to wear a burka OR don’t have the privilege of making that choice. Lady Gaga, this is completely distasteful. There is a difference between being controversial and being a bigot. This song makes you the latter!!
