We’re dating ourselves here but if the videos Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” and Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer” copulated and had a baby, it would be the just-released clip (above) for Miley Cyrus‘s teary ballad “Wrecking Ball.” Just being Miley, the 20-year-old straight ally has unsurprisingly set out once again to demolish what’s left (if there is anything left at this point) of her squeaky-clean Disney image by getting naked and riding the symbolic wrecking ball, natch.
Interestingly, this isn’t the most shocking Miley clip in circulating at the moment. Last Saturday the former Hanna Montana star stopped by the German TV show Schlag den Raab, but instead of grinding against retro R&B singers and giant teddy bears, she left the twerking to a back-up dancer with a rocked-out performance of her smash “We Can’t Stop” backed by a band of little people. Watch it below. She’s just being Miley.

Yawn, Miley is such a hack. Can’t sing and can’t act. She’s a disturbed female.

Hmmm, she has no voice, no talent, no grace – why is she popular? The little people backup band is just wrong.

Miley is so hot. I don’t like her music or pop music in general, but she’s an amazing individual that isn’t afraid of her sexuality.
That tear was a bit cheesy though.
Brian
Katbox,
Sexuality? Lol. More like marketing strategy.
Miley has no talent. She’s a disturbed media wh-ore.
Katbox
@Brian: lady gaga and perez hilton are ‘disturbed media wh-ore(s)’

I actually like Miley’s song ‘we can’t stop”
have to check this one out.
But I got to agree. Miley just doesn’t have that natural sexual energy that performers like Rihanna or Katy Perry have.
At the VMA’s, she looked like a computer nerd that got drunk at an animethon and decided to get on stage and act sexy….err, just didn’t work for her.

I actually liked the music, the voice, and even think she is very pretty and have a hot body, although she do not needed to be semi-naked (or completely). I do not understand why almost all pop artists have to present themselves in panties.

I really wanted to hate this song, but I can’t. I like it all, the video, music, and vocals.

Ugh, no. Little People, now, Miley? Which group of people are you going to tokenise and culturally appropriate next?
Jawsch
I’m not a fan of Miley.
This video is pretty decent, I’ve liked a few of her past songs and this one isn’t bad.
It just seems so…over-the-top forced sexual. Not wearing a bra and being naked just seems so random and doesn’t fit into the video IMO.

If you’ve ever slut shammed, judged, or insulted Miley Cyrus for her work then you are just part of the system she tries to upset for attention. She’s acting out and it’s working. You’re supporting her by watching videos and media appearances. You’re supporting her by uploading comments to posts about her on blogs, news sites, and featured videos. They are like those high school girls who throw a fit when another girl is stealing all the attention.
I just don’t see what shocking about her behavior.

Her using only little people is tokenism at its most extreme. It is insulting, vulgar and obscene. But those words also describe Miley.

Little people? Some people just have to look down on others to make themselves feel bigger.
