WATCH: Poignant Gay Hook-Up Drama — “Four”

Hailed for its gritty realism and poignant human drama, Joshua Sanchez‘s film adaptation of the acclaimed Christopher Shinn play, Four, showcases a quartet of great performances. All-American boy Emory Cohen (The Place Beyond The Pines, Smash) co-stars as gay white teen June. Unable to come out to his parents, June’s search for his gay identity leads him to an anonymous hook-up with middle-aged African American businessman Joe (Wendell Pierce, Treme, The Wire). Joe is deeply in the closet himself and hiding his sexuality from his unhappy wife and their straight-laced teenage daughter Abigayle (Aja Naomi King). Meanwhile, Abigayle is also exploring her sexuality on this fateful Fourth of July night by fooling around with the more experienced Dexter (E.J. Bonilla). As these complicated sexual pursuits unfold, unexpected power dynamics evolve.

Newly available on digital today, Four is this week’s Movie of the Week. Watch the trailer above and then rent or download it directly from (or from other fine digital platforms) now.
