We were just getting over our surprise that “Accidental Racist,” is a serious Brad Paisley- L.L. Cool J. duet about black-white relations, not a Weird Al parody. Now along comes Stephen Colbert to shred the hell out of its questionable lyrics.
After sharing his love of country music (any song written by a Williams is OK with him), the host of The Colbert Report reveals he’s composed his own down-home ditty titled “Oopsie-Daisy Homophobe” that he hopes will bridge the gay marriage divide.
Broadway star Alan Cumming joins him to sing heart-melting lyrics such as: “To the man stretching next to me / At the Crunch gym down on Main / I hope you understand / When I told you God hates f*gs / The only thing I meant to say / Is I’m a Skynyrd fan.”
Talk about an earworm.

first off: That was funny was hell!
second: L.L. Cool J must be on crack to take part of that song.

#1; Brad Paisley and I are both from West Virginia, the state that seceded from Virginia and fought with the North and the Union against the Confederacy and all that stood for, so so why he’s enamored with the rebel flag is beyond me. Neither I or any of my relatives think retaining stupid old prejudices is wise, and Brad kind of takes that “dumb West Virginia Redneck” stereotype a little bit to far and to heart. #2; Brad Paisley is not known for intelligent lyrics, “..kin ah check yoo fer ticks..” as an example. #3 Stephen Colbert and Alan Cumming should release this duet on CD; it was hilarious, relevant, and it put the Paisley/L L Cool J version to shame, it was a much better song, too! I am in love with both of them!
